Kyrie Irving dream

No. You've just expressed to me your love for Irving in the past. Have things changed?

That was in fantasy basketball.

Also, I traded away Irving in a package to get Durant, so I don't have to hype him anymore.

He's obviously a really good basketball player, just maybe not someone you build around.

I completely agree. He's got a lot of hype but he's as inconsistent as Hayward.

I remember last year I was playing nba 2k13 and the cavs offered Irving and Varajao in exchange for Millsap and Jefferson. It was a great trade. However I'm not a huge fan of it this year. Lacks playing defense, isn't a great passer. Who know's if he'd even wanna be in Utah long term, sounds like he might be turning into a diva

I think the Favors contract was exactly where it needed to be, maybe even a bit thrifty. DL knows what he is doing. I like our chances of filling in roster slots 7-12 with nice pieces found on the refuse pile on the cheap. The Jazz have had an eye for that lately, especially with the multiple picks we have coming in the near future that will be on the rookie scale. We will need some 15-22 picks to work on the salary grid. It looks like we have the ability to find value there. I'm not even a little bit worried about the salary structure until we start trading assets to max frail point guards.

Agree. We need a core-8, but of that, the main 6 are crucial. And that can be set up in many ways. Probably the best, IMO, is to have 4 main starters and 1 "token" starter since there can only be so many touches. Then bring in a couple of very good players off the bench, supported by the next tier of talent.

Jazz have the beginnings of that model, although I'm not yet sold on Burke and Kanter remains an enigma. As for Hayward, I just think he needs to be reined in a bit. Take away the repsonsibility of "playmaker" and put that in the hands of the PG. Then I think his shooting %'s will go up and TO's decrease.

My hope is that Utah can pick up a starter or great 6th man in the draft and a solid backup with the GS pick, Then Lindsey can sign an additional FA (or two). Also need a better backup PG, whether that be Neto or someone else. DL has been smart so far with his financial decisions. Utah might need to overpay a bit to keep Hayward, but Favors is decent value and the Jazz have no bad contracts on their books after this season.

Um, yeah...Cleveland for sure would trade two core players for two who were going to be UFA's. The ONLY way to get Irving - and I'm not saying he is even on the market - would be for Favors and our unrestricted pick. Irving is averaging 21/6. He's an elite PG. And by all reports, it's Waiters who is creating the most problems. I see Cleveland dumping Waiters, firing Brown, and targeting a wing in the draft.

The Cavs just fired their GM, maybe their owner could be taken advantage of.
First step in also getting rid of the coach. New GM gets to pick a new coach. The lack of leadership may hinder deadline trades - unless Jazz wanted Waiters, which we don't.

Count me in as not wanting Irving.

Everyone is banging on the cavs for sucking, but no one seems to to think maybe Kyrie is the problem.

Dude doesn't get enough assists for how much the ball is in his hands. Hes a chucker. Shoots way too much for a point guard.

Id rather have Trey Burke at this point. Seems to be more efficient and a better team player.
