...well...if it hasn't happened already..it's time for the Miller family and KOC to become very uncomfortable. This team doesn't have a superstar...and they collapse down the stretch. Ty needs to get it figured out...or it's going to be a really long 3 years.

Jazz play a pretty good first half. Lots of energy. Fess was a man in the middle. Bynum couldn't get his shot off. However, the refs took over in the second half. The Lakers stepped up their defense but to say they never foul is ridiculous. The refs allow the Lakers to grab and hold Jazz players when they try to cut and run their stuff. The Laker know that if the Jazz get taken out of their offense then the are done.

I applaud the effort but what separates the Jazz from good teams are players who can score outside of the offense when things break own. After DW was traded the Jazz lost the only player who could do that. Now they really don't have a player like that can create their own shot.

When the Jazz were good they had three players who could create offense on their own Malone, Stockton and Hornacek even Russell sometimes. Oh well I like the effort. On the other hand, all those Jazz fans who sold their tickets to Laker fans.. shame on you.

The Jazz need someone to step up and become the leader of this team.

Hayward, Millsap, Watson, Fess, Favors, Jefferson, Harris, Kirilenko.... they're nice players, but they need a team leader to play off of. The Jazz need to add an all-star to this mix. Someone who can create and take over. That's a tough player to find, but hopefully the Jazz can find that player in this draft.

If we had a healthy jazz team we probably steal this one. Lakers looked really out of it and we could have built a big lead but didn't have enough offensive firepower. Too bad.

Fes looked great, we were out rebounding the Lakers by a silly margin (10+) when he was in. Also liked how he nearly ripped Kobe's arm out of the socket on that foul. Not dirty, just make him think twice about driving next time. The Jazz have become so soft, that was refreshing to see.

That tech for "throwing" the ball at Kobe is one of the weakest techs I've ever seen. Kobe's delayed "outraged" reaction after it was also hilarious.

After watching Bynum toy with Dallas's bigs yesterday and struggle with Fesenko today, I have to think there's only a handful of players alive that have the size and strength and quickness to have any hope of containing Bynum. Fesenko is one. While it probably makes no sense for the Jazz to keep him next year, I won't be surprised if a top contender goes after him. Miami seems like the perfect place for him. Maybe he'll be having the last laugh.

I kinda got carried away and caught up in the moment last night with all my ref complaints anyway was an expected loss.
I appreciate the effort of the Jazz last night that is all I can ask. Hayward like the Jazz looked good in the first half and in the second again like the Jazz seemed to be pressing/forcing up off balance shots.

Gee, the Jazz only playing 1 half against the Lakers. What a surprise...

This has only been happening for... What? Maybe 4 years now?

The only difference was that this time we played the 1st half instead of the 2nd. Remember all those other times we dug deep holes only to have Price, Duron, and Memo bring us back in the 2nd?

This team is ok at 4-5.... They are absolutely brutal 1-3. Especially at 2.... Ugh...

The refs don't have to give as much favor to other teams to take the game from the Jazz as they used to.
Still, the Jazz would have won the game, except that the better the Jazz played , the more the refs favored the Lakers.
Bynum gets a call on nearly every missed shot attempt, Jefferson, just the opposite, just for starters.

The calls at the end of the 2nd quarter were brutal. The refs fall for every Lakers flop. Same old same old.

Hayward needs to learn to shoot a J off the dribble.

Those of you blaming this game on the refs... Here's a question....

When haven't the refs favored the Lakers when they play against us?

I have no doubt the refs screwed us. But how is that any different than any other time we've played Kobe, Rose, Durant, Wade, Lebron, Melo, Ginobli, etc?

When you have a 5 point lead against the lakers, you need to play as if you're down by 5. You need to expect that at least a half a dozen calls will go against you when Kobe's out there.

Not sure what your point is. I disagree that the refs give a set number of extra calls against the Jazz. As i stated, they seem to adjust the biased calls to what is needed to give the Lakers the win. Yes, there are other teams that get extra calls too. I disagree that it is all about Kobe, every starter on the Lakers gets more calls than any of the Jazz starters. They've got guys off the bench that get more ref respect than any Jazz starters.

So we should be mad at the Jazz because they are so weak and lazy that they didn't beat the lakers by 35, so as to still win by 10 after the refs gift the lakers an extra 25 points? Is that your point, that if the refs favor one team, we should be mad at the other team for not raising their game to overcome the refs?

That wouldn't have been a T if Kobe didn't get his panties in a bunch. Kobe is who turned it into something. The refs of course cave to Kobe(who should have got a tech for him trying to charge Fes, if Fes got one for lightly lobbing the ball in Kobe's direction).

Ummm no.

I'm saying that we shouldn't spend pages 5-9 in a game thread bashing the refs.

We should bash the Jazz for a number of reasons:

#1 Why is Favors only getting 16 mins?
#2 Our SG situation is horrific. So why did we let Korver and Matthews leave for nothing?
#3 Why the hell is AK and his max deal still on this team?
#4 Why do we shoot so many jumpshots? We're not a good shooting team.
#5 Can we please start beating up all those Lakers fans that come into our house? Maybe if we beat them up they'd stop coming.

In addition to questioning our team and its management, give the Lakers some credit.

A nice silver star to Coach Ty for starting Fesenko last night, that gave the jazz a fighting chance against the twin towers. It was too obvious a move to get a gold star. Just too bad ole Jer could never have seen it and good to see Jerry Junior breaking out of the box. I'd like to see this starting lineup used through the end of the year. Fes can be effective against most teams I think, not just those with bigs as he can clog the lane against guards driving the middle, and solve our problems with rebounds.

I know Fes played well last night, but I hate to put a damper on this Fes parade, it's one game he does this all the time it's a cycle with this nut job! He doesn't play for a few weeks, then for what ever reason injury or what ever he gets minutes he plays well, and earns more minutes the next game or two then promptly sent to the bench for the next few weeks because everyone is reminded that he is a bonehead idiot!

For the last time..... Yes he is as athletic as it gets for a 7ft. 300lb. Big man. For all his talent, potential and all that everyone see's is overshadowed by how dumb he is, overshadowed by his lack work he puts in to improve his game, overshadowed by his immaturity. He's still the same player he was as a a rook.

I'm always glad when he plays well, but don't be fooled by this one game.

I HATE Mark Jackson so much.
That being said, he was 100% right when he said that the Lakers are trying to get back in the game, and the Jazz are saying UH OH!. The bad part was the one who looked like he was saying UH OH more than anyone was Corbin. I agree he needs to be given a fair chance, but his demeanor and coaching choices so far have me not too hopeful.

Well, it was good to see the Fes, Jefferson, Millsap, Miles , Hayward, and Watson kick the Lakers butts for 20 minutes until the refs stepped up their game at the end of the first half. Sorry if I left anyone out.

Favor's block on Kobe was awesome. Hayward's got a game. He needs to practice shooting off the dribble . He's got the hops to be a great jump shooter, it just takes a lot of shots and some time for it to click in.
