Larry Hughes-why not?

Why are we not interested in Larry Hughes? He could be the combo guard we have been lacking for years. I know he is old, but for a few years he could be decent.

Has the worst shot selection in the world. He also stops ball movement. He is not a good defender. Goes for way too many steals. Not good at catch and shoot. And he complains when he doesn't get enough playing time. And he wouldn't get enough here.

Ok Should have just made this a whos left and who might be worth a damn. Here are players I would take a flyer on.

Joe Alexander- Admit never really watched him in the pros, but he must have some skills that we could develop. He was awesome in College
Javaris Crittenton- He may not be the thug he was made out to be. Young, great skill set.
Ike Diogu- another big body to throw at the Lakers. Still young

I think these guys have never really been given a shot. All were great college players that have never had consistency. Could our system help them reach their potential?

Joe Alexander is similar to what we drafted in Jeremy Evans. In terms of style of play. Athletic not outside shot and a tweener betwwen a 3 and a 4.

Javaris Crittenton: I actually really liked him coming out of college. Seemed to be a pass first big point guard. But he turned into a scoring guard after playing for teams like the Grizzlies and Wizards (teams that have no structure). I think the whole gun thing is blown out of proportion. I personally don't care who gets caught with guns or not. Its an American right to carry a gun. Unless he was trying to Kill someone or something than I don't care about that. Maybe Sloan can turn him into a real point guard. But Jazz don't take chances on guys like this usually.

Diogu: another undersized PF. No team should have 2 of those. We need length.

Hughes was the one who said he didn't care about winning, only about having fun, which I believe was playing time and money earned.

Hughes has never really made any team or anyone on his team better, so on, I dont want the Jazz to get him, not matter what the price. He is like a poor mans Allen Iverson.

Guys who I would consider for the last spots on our team

Randolph Morris (Hawks)
Stephen Graham (Bobcats)
Earl Watson (Pacers)
Steven Hunter (Grizzlies)
Marcus Williams (Grizzlies)
Josh Boone (Nets)
Jarvis Hayes (Nets)
J.R. Giddens (Knicks)
Etan Thomas (Thunder)
Rodney Carney (Sixers)
Keith Bogans (Spurs)
Javaris Crittenton (Wizards)
Kyle Weaver (Thunder)

I want Fesenk to resign and sign Etan Thomas for the Veterans minimum. And sign either Graham or Carney for the veterans minimum. I wish there were better back up point guards available but there isn't. Get Earl Watson and release Gaines? maybe but I would bet Price would get his playing time anyways. So keeping Gaines is probably the best option so he can develop more.
I would want Crittenton but I its probably not realistic for the Jazz to sign him (the guy is only 22 by the way). Or Kyle Weaver who could play the back up PG spot

I'd invite Alexander to camp if he doesn't get picked up somewhere.

I'd sign Etan Thomas to the veteran's minimum in a heartbeat.

a shooting guard who can't shoot... if not for his contract, Richard Hamilton is the best fit of them all.

Hopefully Gordy doesn't turn into Joe Alexander. I was pimping the hell out of Alexander before the draft a couple of years ago...whoops. Come to think of it, wasn't he the 9th pick as well?
