Thought I'd point out that Looney shot 1-9 today. Didn't play well.
Isn't he supposed to be having that hip surgery?

If he needed hip surgery don't u think GS would hold him out of something as unimportant as SL?

LOL .. that's true.
I wonder if PKM / Dr. Jones knows that particular trainer??????
I thought the issue with him during the draft was that he would likely be out 9-12 months because of a hip surgery.. hence teams being too scared to draft him.
I just remember seeing his stats at Kentucky being like 37% from 10-18 feet and some horrible number (13%?, 17%?) From three.FT% at UK 73.5%
2pt% at UK 53.6%
Matter? No.
But chicken littles orgasming over "43% FT shooting... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh", are dumb.

Must have had alot of sucks and layups to bring that 2pt percentage up to 53% I guess
Ok.Dude he shot 48% on pull-up midrange jumpers.
Ok.
Doesn't change his three point percentage or his percentage from 10-18 feet though imo
No I can't show them. A different poster posted them. (I think it was in the draft thread)Can you show these made up stats? You are probably thinking of his catch and shoot % from 10-18 feet,.

Look. When I was asked about Lyles when he was drafted I gave a fairly exhaustive report. Part of that report included stating I wasn't crazy about the pick.
Having said that, again, if he were 6'10(+), had shot a high % from 3, and shown great dexterity with handles and passing, etc, would he be going 1, 2.. 4???
He went #12. Because of upside.
From a deseret news article
Lyles has range out to the 3-point line but only hit 4 out of 29 during his freshman season, a terrible 14 percent.
Lyles also has a nice midrange game, shooting 37 percent from 2-point range. But playing out of position as a small forward at Kentucky might have hurt that, forcing him to shoot more long twos. Jonathan Givony of Draft Express said, “He was somewhat of a mixed bag at Kentucky in this area only converting … 32/87 jumpers (37 percent) overall according to Synergy.
These numbers are incorrect.
He shot 13% from 3.
53.6% from 2. (rarely dunks)
1)He went at 12 because we picked him at 12.(had to say this, without it I don't have a list)
2)I feel like this was a culture pick. I think there was guys with more upside still on the board.

If this were the case no way he'd be playing now. First round investments are too valuable to teams to just let him play in meaningless games if he needs surgery on his hip.
