What's new

Las Vegas Summer League thread

Welp, Hughes missed a dunk followed by two missed FTs. Then he badly missed a floater at the buzzer. Not sure what's going on with him, but he hasn't shot well in SL at all.

He's shot the ball poorly in college, preseason, G-League, NBA, and now Summer League. We shouldn't be surprised.

our bench tonight is really stinking. I think at best Teague will be a Stars player. Morgan stinks. No one is playing particularly well.

I just don’t think he’s a NBA player.

He's close, if he doesn't try to do too much. The problem is when he's on the floor with a group of scrubs, they defer to him and expect him to create with the ball.

He just needs to guard switches, spot up and move the ball. I think he can do that much.

Forrest's offball defense has been problematic this summer league. It could be because he is more focused on running the offense full-time, though.

I think that’s his kryptonite - he doesn’t do one thing extremely well, just a lot of little things okay.

He was a second round pick so it’s always a roll of the dice, but I don’t see him cracking the rotation anytime soon.

Brantley is doing pretty well -- has 11 pts with three 3s, 7 rebs and pretty decent defense on the perimeter. He needs to be a Demarre Carroll defensive-minded energy player. He's not Julius Randle.

He's a late rotation guy -- kind of "break glass in case of emergency" type.

I know it's against SL competition, but that Doke drop step covers a LOT of territory. Just give the big man the rock.

Forrest shifted gears and game changed.

Hughes looks good defensively. He is sometimes a step late but he is involved in every play. That's encouraging.

Udoka getting switch onto a guard, doing a good job and forcing a miss just to turn around and see a putback is a similiar experience.

Hughes with a huge shot!
