Two of the best artists of our generation finally hook up. Wish Taylor would go to work full time for Yates. Musical bliss.
So she has jumped the shark then. Every single song is about bad relationships. Yawn.
She has some talent as a songwriter, but she is still unable (or unwilling) to stretch herself lyrically. That's fine in a teenager, understandable as a mid-20s woman. If she's still writing the same things in a decade, she'll have very little career left, because the teenage girls she writes for now don't want to hear that same stuff from their mothers.
Yeah. She is ultra-talented, but I think she is really phoning it in. In her defense, she is doing what she likes and what is making her money. As long as the money comes in why do anything different? But as you said, it lacks staying power. And really, for me at least, it lacks any kind of hook or originality. I prefer music that bucks the trends and musicians that explore the limits of their abilities. I suppose this is why Jack White is probably my favorite musician right now. He is constantly pushing and his music knows no genre boundaries really, even though his blues-influenced stuff is his best, imo.
You're welcome. ***** mother ****ers. Trout, this is the **** you should be listening to before you jump in and do your kiddie wrestling ********. Might give you a ****ing edge and allow you to overcome your inner pop-music listening ***** *** wimpiness.
