Boozer aims to quiet 'the haters'
Often-maligned Bull says criticism motivates him

The turf toe has healed. The chip on Carlos Boozer's shoulder has not.

And that should be considered a good thing for the Bulls.

Boozer, maligned throughout the Bulls' run to last season's Eastern Conference finals as he battled a sore right big toe, has heard the criticism. And in a phone conversation from his offseason home in Miami on Tuesday morning, the former All-Star forward basically said bring it on.

"It motivates me," Boozer said...

we'll see....

too bad the online story doesn't include the same picture as the print edition

it's sort of a bobble head doll version of this (only in a Bulls uniform) - his mouth looks HUGE

Haha... Maybe it will motivate him to play defense...
I don't see him finishing out his contract in Chicago, unless the Bulls can't find another team dumb enough to take him and his "I'm getting a raise regardless" contract with him :)

Since when has anything other than MONEY ever motivated Boozer?

If criticism really motivated him, then why did he always suck when we played the Cavs and Lakers? If criticism meant that he'd play better, then he would have looked like Dwight Howard, Karl Malone, and Amare on steroids the past few years here in Utah. If being blasted by media members motivated him, then why was he so outplayed by his Chicago backup, his opponent (who hadn't played in a long time) Udonis Haslem, and why was he has ineffective as Juwan Howard?

I think Boozer's season is going to depend on how much better Rose has gotten at passing/pick'n roll. Boozer is relatively average without a PG feeding him on layups to the basket where he can take advantage of his ability to finish with either hand.

That is his greatest strength. He's better than anyone in the NBA around the rim. Still, he's a defensive liability and an injury waiting to happen. I wonder what it will be this season. Perhaps an ingrown thumbnail?

I predict a strained larynx from calling "HELP!" on defence. During warmups.
