What's new

LeBron is taking his talents to the beaches of Lake Erie

What happens to Dwyane Wade?

Not sure why Bosh doesn't go to Cleveland. Miami would probably agree to a sign-and-trade of Bosh for Tristan Thompson and pieces, as part of their rebuild.

Also, why doesn't Riley scramble and try to get Melo in Miami and do a new big three of Bosh, Wade, and Melo?

My thoughts on the Bron Bron situation:
This is the typical guy dumps longtime, mundane, girl-next-door, sweet and innocent girlfriend for super hot skanky chick in the trailer park. Has a few great years with her, but notices dat beeotch can backfire too and get shriveled and old and dry. Then said guy goes back to sweet and innocent original girlfriend and somehow he becomes the gentleman who did the right thing. Bravo! We can only hope that while the gentleman was gone, original girlfriend pulled a Sandy from Grease, and developed a naughty side... along with herpes and syphilis

I'm not sure what's been said on this subject in the thread, but this Cavs team is much better than LeBron's Heat team from this past year if they add Love.

LeBron = LeBron. Irving >> broken down Wade. Love > Bosh. It's not really close. And if the Spurs stand pat, it's close between the two with Cleveland coming out of the east. If they don't sign Love, LeBron will be in trouble as far as winning a title, but I think he's prepared for that as well.

They better get KLove for only wiggins. Cuz they aren't any closer to winning a championship than landing on the moon if they continue to not have any bigs.

They should keep Wiggins. Trade Waitors, Thompson, and picks for Love. If Cavs trade Wiggins for Love, it would just show how nearsighted and incompetent the Cavs Front Office still is.

Also with regard to Wade. He'll be just fine. He can sign with Miami still for huge money or if he wants to win, he can go sign with Chicago (his hometown, btw) for still a ton of money.

....this was a very smart move by Lebron, just like his move to leave Cleveland was also a smart move! He played out his contract both times.....nothing wrong with that. He's staying in the Eastern Conference, very smart move! No teams in the Eastern Conference are strong enough to dominate a Western Conference finals team, and I'm quite miffed that Vegas has the Cav's 3-1 over the Spurs 4-1? The Heat won't play .500 ball next year. The Knicks are a dumpster fire. The Bull's? They're in Chicago.....loser-ville City! I never said Lebron was dumb......and I've gone on record as saying he will top all of Jordan's stats other than championships! Only big question now is how many of the Cleveland players are "coachable" and will buy into the team concept?

Um. Wow. LeBron will be 30 - they don't have 3-4 years to wait for Wiggins. If they can get a top 10 (5?) player right now, they do that in a heartbeat. No way in hell they get Love without Wiggins as part of the deal. Of course, if they could do that, they would.

Because championship team's history tells us that their best players can't be more than 30. *rolls eyes*

So you don't think Cleveland is interested in doing everything possible to win now? lol

If it's a choice between Wiggins and Love, they will take Love - as they should.

Lebron knows that the window Miami had basically closed and that they can't beat a team from the West 4 of 7. As such, he jumps to another team in the East that has the assets to win there. Just so happens it's CLE so he can produce this narrative of coming home.

Whatever. Just match Hayward already and see if we can get some salary dumps for picks so we understand where this team is heading.

Im curious.
If we sign this max deal for hayward then will that limit what we can do as far as taking on other teams "salary dumps"

Well, if we do a deal before we match, only his QO counts as a cap hold (About 4.5M IIRC). After we match it I'm guesstimating with Hood and Exum we will have right around $53M-$55M under contract. So without trades we can take dumps to the cap threshold of $64, right?

I think if they want to take on assets, there is probably time to do it before we match Hayward's offer. With LeBron signing, everything will start falling into place quickly.

Edit: I think we would have a mid-level exception too, not sure.

I'd almost rather just let Kevin Love opt out next summer if all Cleveland thinks they have to offer is Bennet, Waiters, and a first rounder that's going to suck. Those two jokers almost have negative trade value.

Why the hell would minny trade their best player for garbage? Klay Thompson is 100x better than Cleveland's garbage.

My guess? Love is going to walk after this next season and will decide on a number of teams. The LA Lakers will be a strong contender for his services.
