What's new

Lebron James is a bad player and he will win none of the championships.

To be honest, I think the poster has a point. LeBron is certainly among the most gifted basketball players every to play; however, he has a long way to go as a playmaker and as someone who makes the rest of his team better, the way Magic and Bird did, and many other NBA greats. LeBron is an astounding talent, but he is not yet a great basketball player.

saw this elsewhere, and it cracked me up -

...three-time NBA champion -- Jud Buechler said today that Lebron James made the right decision by signing with Miami...

"Could I have tried to win one myself?" said Buechler, speaking to no one in particular on the back porch of his house. "Sure. That would have been great. But I tried to do that with the Nets, Spurs and Warriors. And not only did I not win a title, but I often didn't even get in games. That's when I knew I needed to make a move."

Following the 1993-1994 season, Buechler chose not to re-sign with Golden State -- partly because he wasn't offered a contract, and partly for the opportunity to play with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

"You know, all respect to Michael, but it's sort of convenient for him to come out and say that he never would have done what Lebron did," said Buechler. "But he already had Scottie on his team. And then I came along, too. It's not like he did it by himself. I averaged 2.7 points per game during our three-peat."

Those mid-90s Bulls teams are regarded among the greatest teams in NBA history, and Buechler's name is listed on the roster.

"I know it is. I check to make sure it's still there regularly," he said. "At the end of the day, careers are measured by championships. Lebron knows that. And I think someday he'll be mentioned in the same sentence as Bill Russell, Magic, Michael, Kobe, and Jud."

We can only hope. Dude's a doucher of epic proportions.
IAWTP.
As much as I really, really, really HATE the Lakers, and I really, really, really HATE Kobe, I'd probably rather have them win over the Heat.

I've never been a fan of LBJ, but FA irked me to no end. The way he put off his "decision" until his "people" could arrange the TV special. If I could have one wish (well, outside of the Jazz winning a title), it would be for Lebron to join Malone and Stockton as the best players to have never won a championship.

Hey, I'd even cheer for the Amare, CP3, Carmelo Knicks or the CP3, Carmelo, Howard Magic if that prevented the Heat from getting rings.

Ok, here's the thing. Right now, as it stands, Kobe is one ring shy of tying MJ. I am so freakin' sick of the talking heads yapping about who's the best, MJ or Kobe, I would gladly cut off lefty with a rusty pair of scissors if Kobe's career ended with 5 rings. It won't shut people up completely, but if Kobe ties, or (God forbid) wins more rings than MJ, I'm going to have to listen to that crap for the rest of my life. This I cannot bear. When the Lakers won the title this year after being down 3-2, I assumed this was inevitable, and had begun working on a suicide note so that I would be prepared for the worst.

Then came my ray of sunshine. I really thought the possibility of the Miami situation was nothing but BS. I didn't think there was a chance in hell. I'll admit that my stomach turns to think what d-bag LBJ will be once he starts winning rings, considering what he already is, but the defeat on Kobe's face once he realizes he'll never match MJ will be more than worth it to me. And to be honest, I'd be thrilled if somebody else, anyone else would be the one to take that from Kobe, but realistically, I don't see another option.

Not like it'd be the first time.
