So its obviously next to impossible to lure him to Utah, but Im curious if you guys think that Dennis Lindsey will still give a shot anyways or if you think that he shouldn't waste his time.

Say Golden state misses the playoffs and we get the 14th pick from them. We trade kanter and the 14th pick for bostons 5th pick and take dante exum. (maybe we have to sign and trade Hayward to them too, or throw in burks.)
Jazz win the lottery and get the number 1 pick and draft wiggins.

Lebron seems to be very concerned/aware with his legacy and where he will end up historically in the nba.
So Dennis Lindsey pitches it to LeBron like this. "We have a very young talented team (exum, burks/Hayward, wiggins, favors, burke, marvin, neto, evans, WCS with our second rounder) and you could be the first player to take a team from last place in the conference to a title in one year. We will pay you the max and go after whatever coach you choose."

He still says no but what the hell. Worth a try imo.

Edit: Also he would have the opportunity to take a small market team that has never won a title to a championship. He would be legendary if he pulled it off.

He wants to be wherever he has the best chance to win a title NOW, and we clearly aren't there yet, even if we get lucky and land Wiggins.

Still though, couldn't hurt to make him an offer. DL just has to make sure his time and energy are spent trying to lure free agents we have a more realistic shot at.

That is a lot for Exum. It doesn't matter. The only way Lebron would ever consider coming to Utah is if Stockton and Malone were cloned in their prime years in the NBA. Lebron is NOT coming to Utah.

And the weather isn't quite as ****ty as it is in Cleveland.

I can't speak for Lindsey as he really doesn't have a track record, but I wish we would have been more aggressive in the past in doing things for PR purposes and doing something to change the Utah stigma. I'd reach out to LeBron, with the obvious implication that he wouldn't accept, but it wouldn't take any time. I don't think it helps to be reclusive. Of course, I don't know that we use evidence that we haven't pursued big name free agents at least as novelty, but it's felt like our strategy has been like going to a buffet and while everyone's in line fighting for ribeye, we fathom ourselves as wise by going to load up on a few big plates of macoroni and cheese.

So you're saying UGLI should be our GM? He knows Golden Corral like the back of his dick.

we didn't go after Chris Paul when we had a dire need for PG, so no, I don't think we do.

Lindsey's free agent off-season will probably be really busy with:

1. Signing our 3 draftees to deals so they can play in Summer league.
2. Holding a press conference announcing Ty will be leaving us to coach such and such team, and we thank him blah blah blah.
3. Finding, recruiting, and inking Ty's replacement.
4. Extending Hayward.
5. Working out whether or no Neto is coming over and signing that deal.
6. Extending Burks.
7. Extending Kanter.
8. Lindsey mentioned Tomic again in his latest interview. Maybe he does something with him in a trade, or tries to bring him over.
9. Finding REALISTIC free agents that A. compliment our team and direction, and b. want to come to Utah at c. their fair market value.

Just draft Wiggins and show LeBron these

I like the idea...it's worth a shot.
