Rudy changed out season. Not Favors, Not Hayward, and not really Quin. Also, Hassan Whiteside changed the season for the Heat. I'm saying this because if you were to ask Lebron James or Stef Curry if they would rather play small ball or have a Gobert or Whiteside more then likely they would rather have an elite defending big on their team. By choosing Lyles we are following gimmicks of other teams and gimmicks fade. What won't fade is players like Rudy. So, when the Jazz could have brought in a player like Oubre with is length to add to our overall length and defense they didn't. Instead they chose to follow a fad in the NBA. The teams that win are teams that create the fad not those who follow blindly.

Tell me a stretch four besides Dirk that should really scare a team? They wanted Green to shoot all day. All these other stretch big men can't stay on a team. I loved Okur and what he brought. But, he already had it in his game and we didn't focus on his three point ability. We used it but we didn't focus on it.

So, if we just had the team sans RUDY we would have been a top 5 lotto team. Why not continue that trend and draft freak athletes. Not "smart" players.

Good lord is the a worse or more annoying poster on this site than the OP? Your hate of everything Jazz is pathetic. You are never satisfied with anything the FO does. They could trade for LeBron and you'd find a way to bitch about it.
.
You asked for me to be honest.

I guess hating Hayward, Burke, and Lyles constitutes the Jazz as a team. If you would like to make that assumption go ahead. I'm just pointing out that without Gobert we would be a top five lotto pick. We can't sit around trying to make stretch fours and fives. That fads don't work see the Wildcat NFL formation.

I feel ya. I'm still really disappointed in the Jazz FO. All the rest of you guys - please give some of us a little time to mourn. And to bitch. I'm resigned to Lyles. Not excited about him, no, but there's some hope. He's not terrible. Just not elite at anything. So vanilla. In our last decent chance in the draft in awhile. It's still so recent let me pick my ****ing scabs.

You say they needed to add to their overall length. They just drafted a 6'10.5" 3/4. Pretty sure they added to their overall length with that move.

You do realize we picked 12, right? You aren't going to get a Dirk level stretch four. Lindsey and the FO felt that Lyles could fill in some gaps for us. That kind of player is what you get at 12. You may have wanted Booker or Oubre more, but it could still turn out to be a really good pick. Evidently he impressed them in his workout.

Lyles has really good length too. Seems like you are forgetting that. Also, league is moving toward a playmaking 4. Lyles could be that guy.

Oubre just screams self entitled blockhead to me. We have had soooooo many of those guys, and they just haven't panned out. And athleticism is in the eye of the beholder. If the "Dr. of Pick & Roll ology" Develops a battery of skill and balance tests to determine who will be good in that role, and this guy aced them, I take that into consideration. Honestly, we don't know a whole lot about Lyle in the role we want to play him in because he was forced to play out of position in college. Quinn turned trasheap dude Demarre Carroll into a 12 to 15 million dollar a year player, I'm willing to see what he can do with Lyles. . .

Hayward is really good. He was a top 30 player this last season.

Agreeing with you still makes my skin crawl.

Add to that list of yours KOC, Lindsey, and the Millers. The next time I see a positive post by you it'll be the 1st.

Yeah it's not like you're going to draft a Karl Malone in the early teens. I mean. Uh. Oh wait.

didn't matter when we picked it matter who was still on the board

Go Jazz!!

Welcome to the Jazz Lyles and Hanlan! You're joking some great players like Hayward and a great coach in Snyder and a great GM in DL.

Ignore the uninformed armchair GM haters.
