What's new

Let's Discuss...who starts at PF position? Favors or Kanter?

To be honest I think Kanter and Favors are easily switchable. Place Kanter on the bigger opposing player and Favors on the more athletic one. They make it so it does not really matter.

I'll go with Beidrins. :p

Kanter and Favors will both start. On offense, the 4/5 is interchangeable. They'll be running in/out on plays. On defense I see Kanter guarding the 5 and Favors the 4.

Positionless..

Kanter at PF, though. On offense he has a much better shot and can better spread the floor. No one gives a damn about Favors when he's outside of 10 feet.
On defense Kanter can hold off another post man, giving Favors more time to get over and help defend/block the shot.

I'd place Kanter on the stronger of the opposing bigs and favors on the faster. Normally that means Kanter Ds the C and Favors Ds the PF.

Whatever happens I never ever want to see Gobert and Favors play at the same time or even ever stand next to each other on the sidelines cause it will show how tall Gobert is and Favors will look undersized like Millsap in pictures and the secret will be out.

So yeah, if Gobert starts I want Kanter at the 4. Goobs did look awesome in summer league you know.

Actually I hope they stand by each other all the time and people go up and challenge Favors at the rim. He will start racking up the blocks. Plus he will have weakside help from a guy with a 7'9" wingspan.

Agreed. Hopefully Corbin sees it this way.

Favors at C - I've seen more than enough of Derrick 25 feet from the basket trying to guard stretch 4's while any one of the other 4 opposing players waltzes into the paint for an easy layup.

Just put the best players on the court....

After what we experienced last year... we should be happy if they are even on the court together!!
(C'mon Ty... your job is riding on this!)

GoBear shouldn't get more than 30 min per game EVER. Well, not ever, but his body is too frail to take too much punishment, so unless he bulks up a lot he needs to be the third big.

not that this thread is about GoBear anyway.

A ****. We have three centers again, just like last year. Kanter-Favors-Gobert. Favors-Gobert-Kanter. Kanter-Gobert-Favors. Favors-Kanter-Gobert.

We should have snagged Ryan Anderson last year.

No, ever since Kanter dropped 40 pounds, and developed a mid range game he can play PF just fine. In fact I think that is what he wanted to play anyway.

Ya ryan anderson would play great defense against griffin, love, aldridge, the brow, boozer, big al, zach randolph and every one else

You're forgetting there is 97 minutes available for our bigs. Ryan Anderson would complement Favors and Kanter perfectly.
