So I was reading about the Timberwolves and their plans with four pg's. After reading the article I read this.

Pekovic update: Kahn said he's waiting on 6-11 center-forward Nikola Pekovic to complete a physical before finalizing a contract with the native of Serbia-Montenegro. Kahn said an agreement could be reached next week.

Pekovic, a second-round pick of the Wolves in 2008, is eligible to join the Wolves this season after completing his obligations with Panathinaikos Athens in the Euroleague.

Pekovic, 24, is ranked seventh by Draft Express among the top 30 foreign players whose rights are held by NBA teams. He averaged 12.9 points and 3.8 rebounds and shot 72.5 percent from the floor last season with Panathinaikos Athens.

I was thinking, maybe this Kahn guy isn't so bad after all. I mean, he did just acquire Nemanja B this past draft from Washington. However, I had never heard of this Pekovic guy. Who is he? Is he really that good? So I youtubed him. And I was very surprised with what I got.

Does this guy look not all there in the head? If he has a chance to play in the NBA, I just might.

....he looks like a Jazz, plays like a Jazz....probably smells like one, too! I say bring him in and give him a try! Howz about it, hopper my man???

I really hope that video doesn't swear. I have to log in on safe mode with networking because my laptop crashed yet again.

This guy has the best tat in the NBA now. Go to this website and click on the larger version of it. It wont let me post it on here. He's probably my new favorite basketball player.

Nikola Pekovic: Best tattoo in the NBA – no, the Universe
Montenegro, NBA, funny notes, latest news

Media day in the NBA gave a lot of newbies, unknowns and ubiquitous presences (see coverage of Miami Thrice schmoozing at right) alike the chance to know and be known. Minnesota Timberwolves fans and players alike are well enthusiastic about their new addition Nikola Pekovic, who’s already generating hilarious quotes from his teammates with just his general badass demeanor and play.

Said Wayne Ellington: “I’m making him my new best friend.”

Said Michael Beasley: “I don’t think nobody has the guts to challenge Pek to a fight, nobody. Pek is 300 pounds, he’s 6’10” and he’s from Serbia. [Actually Montenegro, no? – Ed.] I don’t think nobody wants to challenge him.”

Said Kevin Love: “He wants to make friends with us before he knocks a few teeth out.”

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune goes on to make note of Pekovic’s “no-nonsense haircut and bicep tattoo that –”

To which BallinEurope interrupts, “Holy otherworldly phlebotomy, Batman! Look at that ink work!”

Seriously. Click here for a bigger version of the embedded photo above to get a decent look at the tatt: Bloody incredible stuff that, and it surely set “Pek” back quite a few euros. If this isn’t the greatest tattoo in professional basketball, BiE wants to know about it. Also, if you have a better image or a link to a closer-up shot of Pekovic’s work, please post it here.

In the meantime, enjoy your new inside presence, T-wolves fans. Maybe he can even induce some better play out of ol’ Darko…

Also, they're saying he says the coolest things. Check out this quote.

"He's going to have to learn how referees call our game, and they're also going to have to understand the nature of how he plays," Rambis said. "I was talking to him during the game about defending Pau [Gasol] and he said, 'You mean I can't push him?' No, you can't push him. But he's coachable. He wants to please. He wants to play. He wants to do what's right."

What is with that video? A mixtape of one game where they have dramatic music and the same play on replay from 4 different angles, all in slow motion?

He'll probably be a hack. Minnesota is excited about him.. that ought to tell you enough.
