What's new

Let's Shed a Tear

Reasons for the Bogey trade:
1. Saved a further 7 mil under the tax.
2. Takes Pistons out of the tank race.
3. Lets Hardy run 5 out and a switchable D which is what we are going to run going forward.

Short run, yes long run, idk. 5 out is clearly where the league is headed. 5 out with 3 seven footers is better. 5 out with 2 seven footers an a 7'3" French guy would be the best case.

100 % A two for one deal. All moves this year should be 1) to be garbage this year and 2) move toward the supporting cast and style of play that will compete in high level playoffs

You do know that the Pistons are going to trade him again and they will very much be in the tank race, right?

The league is in no way heading towards 5 out.

The only prominent 5 out team in the NBA is the Clippers (could be missing someone) and they havent won a ring yet.

And even the Clippers are still playing Zubac half the game in the regular season and about 1/3rd of the game in playoff matchups. 5 out isnt some future thing that is going to completely take over.

The Celtics and Warriors both played 5-out in the NBA Finals.
The Mavs played 5-out against the Jazz.

The Grizzlies played 5-out with JJJ.
The Bucks play 5-out with both Bropez and Portis.
Ayton spaces the floor to about 18 feet, just not all the way to the 3pt line.

The offensive side of the game seems to be to space the floor and attack off the dribble, then kicking out to the wing. Defensively, it's nice if your 5 can still guard the rim and the paint.

Zubac has been played off the floor in the postseason the last couple of years, but that's more about struggling to guard on the perimeter rather than what he does or doesn't do offensively.

I thought Ainge could have found some draft picks for him.
every GM was mad at Ainge for the 2 trade hauls and started only offering crap trying to see if Ainge would give a contender Bogie for scraps, we couldnt keep Bogie so we traded him to a team that wouldnt hurt us. and said FU to the contending teams lowballing us
