Let's talk about Derrick Favors and Devin Harris!

So much attention has been placed, and rightfully so, on Deron's departure. As much as we love (or hate for some) Deron, he is history now and we need to move on (it is really sad though that he probably won't even get his number retired here in Utah).

Let's welcome Derrick Favors and Devin Harris! What do you think they would do for the team? Do we still have enough to make the playoffs or the management wants the team to tank it out?

Harris is not a bad player. A former all-star who is turning 28, he was averaging 15 pts and 7 assists for the Nets. He is definitely not as good as Deron but he is still a decent replacement. Is he going to stick around or we will flip him to somewhere else?

Favors is definitely the main piece of the trade. Reviews are mixed on him - some say he might turn into a Dwight Howard type (I can see the comparison in terms of their builds), some say he is a bust. He is only 19 going on 20 and even younger than Hayward.

Let's weigh in!

I think we also need to consider the departure of ncoloradojazz - just announced today @ 12:32 PM

and welcome to the two new Jazzmen! Best of luck...

anyone know when they'll see some action for us?

But seriously, if the Jazz had to trade Deron, this is probably the best they could do. The real argument is the timing of this deal. Who knows what the next CBA looks like? It may have been a lot harder for Deron to leave.

Gordon Chiesa on 1320 right now. Says Jazz did great. Favors is a major talent, top 3 big man under 25. He says this move will immediatley help team chemistry. That Harris and Favors will listen to coach corbin (somebody else wouldn't). There is no question now who is charge of this team, this is Ty's team. Tyrone can now have a chance to succede. Thinks team will still make playoffs because harris can defend the pick and roll (somebody else couldn't) and penetrate and kick (something else someone else wouldn't do) to wide open CJ and Bell. He says this move makes the utah gaurds and wings better.

Harris is pass happy, only 28. Plays good system basketball.

Avery Johnson is a task master on his point gaurds (just what Me-Will deserves).

Gordon Chiesa says Jazz win the trade. Really high on Favors and Harris. Says Harris will get CJ and Bell more open looks from 3.

Damn, beat me to it. And more details, too. I got pwned.

I'm stoked with Harris' skillz... I don't think we're going to be missing too much between him and Deron. Obviously I'm not saying Harris is as good as Williams, but I think he's better than a Williams that's checked out mentally and isn't 100% behind the team.

Atleast now we have something where in a year we'd have NOTHING for him.

I wouldn't be discouraged by Favors so-so rookie season.

The last young player that The Nets turned into an all-star was Julius Erving.

Harris is good. Favors has enormous upside, I am very excited to see him play. This trade could be a big win if Favors reaches his full potential. Plus 2 lottery picks to work with. I am starting to feel better about this trade.

considering how much DWill was struggling with his wrist and play recently, the Jazz might be better off for the final stretch. Who knows.

I think there are a lot of nice things to say about both of these players. I'm still in Me-Will shock though... I'll start my new bromances tonight while I'm watching the Jazz get pounded by Dallas.
