Life - official thread

I think I won the JFC pool. Injured. Gonna get fat as ****.

A strain isn't an injury. Gonna lift today, row tomorrow easy, maybe take off Sunday, lift Monday...like that...cardio will be smart and relatively easy for a good 6-12 days until the hammies feel okay.

FWIW, yesterday, I ran 3.34 miles with the first mile in 8:19, then 8:08, then 7:50 and the last 0.34 was at 7:40 pace. Annoyed because I felt good, relaxed and def would've been able to complete that mile at that pace, and then do some or all of a fifth mile in around 7:00-7:20 pace.

Can you please call Derrick Favors and inspire him? TIA

I've been very excited by my progress considering my weight is still hovering around 204 and my body fat is still around 23%. I've been eating better but these figures haven't come down much at all. If I can throw a really good month together of crazy good eating, I'm curious how much more I can improve with my running/rowing times.

Recently, I played my first show (music; solo guitar) in over a decade. It went incredibly well. Setting up a couple more at the beginning of next year.

I sang at a concert at Libby Gardner Hall tonight. My first time there. It was really cool.

Intermittent fasting (together with proper eating & exercise) really helped me when I lost more than 20lbs nearly 2 years ago.

Not saying it works for everyone but it did for me.

I think the problem is that intermittent fasting is very difficult/doesn't work well long term. Might lose 20 lbs and put it back on in a couple months.

Yeah there's many methods and the timing is also important.

I started doing it when my weight loss started to plateau and I found that it really helped in losing those weight that just won't budge. Also I did a 20 hour only 1-2 days a week so it's not too taxing on the body.

I haven't fasted since the weight loss and I've still managed to kept most of the weight off for the past 2 years. (with proper eating, no exercise).

I think I most likely made the best chili in the world tonight. If not the best then top 1%, for sure.

My wife sucks at cooking.. and I'm a foodie, but she makes the best chili I've ever eaten. SUPER HOT, though.

My kids don't do spicy. I could have made it bottom 2% had I the freedom to fire it up.

The only thing I like that my wife makes is bacon fried rice.
