Life - official thread

Sounds similar to Kubex. A friend of mine started that franchise and has explained it to me similary to what you have.
I just perused their website. From what I saw, they are similar, and they're not.
At OTF, it's group training. Everybody is following the same workout. Certified personal trainers are leading each workout and explaining exactly what we do. The location I go to could have a maximum of 39 people in a class. The class is broken up into groups. One group will start on treadmills, one group will start on rowers, and one group will start in the weight floor (dumbells, benches, TRX straps, Ab Dollies, and medicine balls. No barbells). Most classes when I go have a number in the low twenties, so we usually only break up into two groups. The segments are broken up into blocks and it always varies. One day we could spend twenty five straight minutes on the treadmill varying our speed and/or incline while the other group works the weights/straps and mixes in rowing. The next day we could jump back forth between the treadmills and rowers while the other group is doing weights, etc.
That's mostly what I love about it so much. There is always someone there telling me what to do and pushing me, without the gym bro yelling and crap. I've always known how to workout hard, but not what to do. It is always a different workout, so it changes and challenges in different ways.

About to see if I can go sub 7 minutes for 2K. Haven't done any cardio in over three weeks doe.
The second half of my workout this morning mixed rowing with weights. I did 600 meters (don't remember the time), then did some weights. Then 500 meters (1:31.4) and did some weights. Then 400 meters (1:09.2) and finished with more weights.
Considering I spent the first 25 or so minutes running hills, I feel good with those times.

That's awesome man. I'm about to close on the sale of my first semi custom home job. It's taken longer than I want to finish, but making more money than I thought it would. I'm really excited about the next project I have planned. I'm just doing it on the side right now, but it's super fun and exciting.

I need to get in on the fitness thing too.

I'm getting fairly close to getting physical custody of my 13 year old daughter! My only child that doesn't live with me. Long story told short is that my 13 year old is messing up bad and mom cant handle her and thinking about sending her to me. I can straighten her out easy. Mom's just incompetent.

Trying to get fall work done, ready for snow and winter.

Still dealing with health issues, recently started a new medication (cellcept) that I'm excited about. Went to mayo and found out I'm allergic (contact) to a lot of different things I work with (rubber in conveyor belts, some stuff that's in a lot of metal lubricants, and other stuff) which is frustrating, but I'm still gonna try to farm.

Trying to move into my grandmas old house (dad owns it) but my relatives are being slow as hell deciding who gets what. Dieting so I look good in Hawaii this Christmas, now I just need to exercise.

Oh yeah! Wife is pregnant with #2.

Good luck brotha. You remarried or just boning casually?

Lol. Wife was ready, I was ready, so we made a baby! Our girl just turned 1 on the 2nd, so these next few years should be chaotic.

It's a rough adjustment, but when they first realize that they have a sibling, it's pretty great. My kids are starting to play together and wrestle amd stuff. It's so much fun.

bigb,

I've fallen out of shape a little because of my hammies but without much of a warmup today, I rowed 563 meters in two minutes. It didn't feel crazy hard so I recovered for about 6-7 minutes (light rowing, stretching) and then rowed another two minutes almost all out for 602 meters. I came through one minute around 292 meters (so the last minute was 310 meters) and had the intention of doing 3 minutes crazy hard but at the one minute mark, picked it up a bit and quit after two as I had almost nothing left in me. I think with a little more training, I could get up to 630 meters in two minutes.

That's good. It's crazy how quickly rowing will drain you.
During the second half of my workout today we had some rowing mixed with weights. I didn't pay attention to the 300 meter time, but I did 350 in 59 seconds flat and 400 in 1:11 and change. Keep in mind this was at the end of the workout, after running hills for the first half.
The other day we did a three minute row right on the middle of the workout. I hit 900 meters just as time was called.
