Billy Hunter is quoted as saying: “Most of our players, when they end playing basketball, they’re going to be living for another 40 years or so. And I don’t know how long that money’s going to last, even if they’ve made every prudent investment they can possibly make, at what level they’re going to be able to live.”
Why do we have to assume that once a basketball player is finished playing pro basketball he has no other intellectual or physical capabilities to continue to earn a living?
Is that not insulting?
Hunter’s comment hardly was unique. Often in locker rooms you will hear players talking about how they have to get what they can in free agency, because this could be the last contract of their careers.
Not their playing careers. Their entire earning careers. And they’re saying this at 30, sometimes younger."

....so, reading between the lines....NBA players, loaded with the jailhouse tats...have very limited employment opportunities after there playing days are over! In fact, the notion that McDonalds or Burger King will always be there is off base! I think they have a "No visible tatoo" policy that would disqualify about 80% of todays NBA players! As you know, they like to put them on their necks these days!!!

My point is that being on an anonymous board riling up a bunch of white folk is sure easier than if he was out there talking his **** where some one will put his *** on blast for real.
And It's not just a comment here or there, it is EVERY ****ING POST. As a man raising an interracial family, I find these post grotesquely offensive. The stereotypes are old and this is just not funny.

Espn reporting that Cuban suggested eliminating the cap and replacing it with a heavy luxary tax. The players loved it, then the owners backed off.
I think this is how it will end, Cuban and few high end franchises will strike a deal with a few high end players, form a 12 team league. The left-overs become the modern ABA.

No chance. I have no doubt that some of the players are silly enough to consider something like that, but Cuban is a different story. He just finally achieved his dream of winning an NBA championship. If he wanted to start over with some experimental startup league, he'd probably just buy a lingerie football franchise or three.

If the answer is no, does that make carolinjazz less offensive? If the answer is yes, does that make him more offensive?
I'm pretty sure he was referring to the fact that most of the league's top stars have very few years of college. He had a specific example related to the idea that the three players that shot down the 50-50 proposal had three collective years of upper education between them.
