Chris Whelpdale, a winger with English fourth-tier side Gillingham, suffered a painful and unusual injury in a 2-1 win at Crawley Monday when a tackle split open his *******, AFP reported.

"It's a horrific injury," Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler told the BBC. "He's going to be very sore, and I'm sure his wife won't be too happy either."

Whelpdale required five stitches to close the injury, which occurred during a high tackle by David Hunt, The Sun reported.

The 22-year-old Whelpdale, who joined the soccer club from Peterborough in July, has scored four goals in 22 games.

Damn. I can't fix the link because the story is about a guy ripping his marble bag (see the quote in my post), but the proper term for nut sack is filtered and that is messing up the link. It's not a video, just a story. A very painful, cringe inducing story. LOL...soccer.

Wouldn't want to see that video anyway. I went to a soccer game once. I just kept thinking;

- Why not shorten the field, by a LOT?
- Why not widen the goal a little?
- Why am I ****** here?

I'm actually an AYSO certified coach and referee. I love having my daughter play. She gets a lot of exercise. But I despise the game as an adult. It's boring as hell to watch. Listening to the announcers get excited over a weak shot that misses by a good 5 yards is about the only redeeming thing; that's rather humorous. Especially when they replay it over and over again. I guess they have to since there's not much else. Oh yeah, the "acting' is pretty good too. Well, outside of this injury that was all too real. But flopping in the NBA is nothing compared to what happens in soccer.
