That's like David Rockefeller calling himself a 10%er. Only owns ten percent, thinks he's God.

Just to be clear, this is what I actually said. Notice the logical jump from your self-immolating "Filthy 5%er" to the "10%er", which I intended to make it match the tithe fraction, and the huge transfer of subject from the inconsequential #of posts to the control of worldwide net worth. . . . by then I could suppose you might realize it actually is unrelated to your statement or situation in life, except in the trifling point of comparison which you yourself had made about how your rank in postcount is something like a forum status thing somehow. NO I don't think it's anything but fun.

But for the record, my point about the underpinnings of today's progressivism and government authority being based on a presumption of human grandeur rightfully concentrated in a few elites is just something I'm gonna say anytime I can. . . .

nothing about what you consider yourself. I said David Rockefeller, putatively holding 10% of the world's "net worth", considers himself "God". . . . ..

so let's back that up with some twentieth century philosophy, such as that set forth by Nietzsche, where the thesis was about how removing God from the equation of human values effectively places man in the drivers' seat, so to speak, and makes morality's and values' defining criteria a human perogative, and then asserts that since nobody can actually argue against it on authority derived from supra-human postulates. . . .like believing in God, or asserting God's commands somehow. . . .. whoever has the money or the military or political power to impose their values on the remainder of mankind therefore has the right to do so.

This is the actual basis of all "progressive" politics or state socialism, which must necessarily reject the thesis in our Declaration of Independence that government's just powers are derived from the consent of the governed.

So. .. . hell yeah. . . . David Rockefeller thinks he is better than God.

I was only kidding, babe.. sorry to have prompted you to waste so many valuable words on so few posts. Thank you, though. :)

Yeah, but your post seemingly implied I consider myself God. That's not nice, babe.

well, we already discussed the idea content in this contribution, but there is something even more significant we missed. . . . .

This is thread post #2222. It's going to take another 20,000 post to surpass this record for number of two's in the post number. . . . .

(just a foreshadowing of the fascination with numbers I have)

Times Tables in Your Mind

So here's how I envision transferring some of my values to my kids. . . .. the way I've learned to do the times tables since wasting several years in public schools memorizing a grid of numbers which in my mind had no rational connection.. . . just had to memorize the buggers.

Zero times table

If you have zero and add zero to it, what's the answer? what does zero mean, and what does adding zero do????

zero is the "empty" number, has nothing in it. Adding or multiplying by zero returns "nothing" as the answer.

multiplying is merely a repetitive addition, a specified number of times. . . .

One times table

One is the first integer or whole number. If you start counting by ones, the first number you have on the number line is "One".

The "One times table" is a list of numbers as you repetitively add "one" to each result from the previous in the series. . . . . it's merely counting by ones.

multiplying by "one" is the identity operation that returns what you have/had to begin with. One times anything. . . . in whatever "anything" is.

Two times table

Two is the second number in counting. . . . the second number on the number line.

it is double the value of one.

The "Two times table" is counting by twos instead of ones. . . . ..

multiplying by two doubles what you have/ had to begin with. . . . .

learn to count by twos, and you have the two times table. . . . ..

The Jazz are in the lead at Portland in the closing minutes. . . .

A stunning last couple of minutes with actual Jazz players doing a clutch time run on the Blazers.

Portland inbounds stolen, Jazz score. . . . nine point lead, a 21-3 run. 101-92
