Going to be hard to both trade that contract and build around Flagg after we draft him. With that contract on the books. And my confidence in him fully earning that deal is low.
Ya Im higher on Lauri than most.
I think having an extremely efficient all star on Flaggs team is actually beneficial to building a team around Flagg.

Let’s look at players and assets for next year:

Veterans
01 - Lauri Markkanen (28) - $46.4 m
02 - John Collins (28) - Player Option $26 m
03 - Collin Sexton (27) - expiring $19.2 m
04 - Jordan Clarkson (33) - expiring $14.3 m

Non-Guaranteed
01 - KJ Martin (25) - $8.0 m
02 - Svi Mykhailiuk (28) - $3.7 m
03 - Johnny Juzang (24) - $2.8 m
04 - Jaden Springer (23) - $2.4 m

Young Guys
01 - Taylor Hendricks (22) - $6.1 m
02 - Cody Williams (21) - $5.7 m
03 - Walker Kessler (24) - $4.9 m

10 - Top 20 Rookie
11 - Mid-2nd Round Pick
12 - Mid-2nd Round Pick

03 - Elijah Harkless (25) - 2 Way

Assuming the Jazz don’t trade away ANY of their young players yet, they’re already likely at 10 roster spots. Even if they trade Collins, Clarkson and Sexton I would expect the Jazz to have to use up at least 3 more spots on players coming back for salary- matching purposes. Add Lauri to the equation, and that’s 13/14 spots before even addressing non-guaranteed players, free agents and 2nd round picks. Will definitely make for an interesting offseason.
I can see letting all the non-guaranteed guys go and adding as many rookies and Procida as possible. I don't know what they will do with the two way guys. My gut is that they all leave.

My concern is that he’s not getting his points the way he was year one here and he’s piling up on injury. I’m not saying he’s breaking down yet but it’s a concern, and it should be.

I think they’ll keep Juzang, but I agree with the rest of them. In all honesty, I think it’s going to be REALLY hard to tank next year, and I’m almost positive that Danny broke the system and they’ll make some changes to discourage the most blatant forms of tanking moving forward.

No matter what anyone says, the Jazz are nowhere near being the worst team at full health and effort.

I’d be less concerned if there wasn’t clearly an effort by the front office and coaching staff to tank the past three seasons (post trade deadline in 22/23 & 23/24.)

If we do decide to go for it this summer, is there another deal like the Deni trade that Portland made last year?

Nobody asked this question, but is there a realistic guy out there you want the Jazz to get for next season?

It doesn’t have to necessarily make sense.

For me, I’d love to have them go sign Steven Adams. I think he’d be the perfect backup for Kessler at the 5.

Right now, the Jazz really only have one PG on their roster. I could see them pick up a rotational guy somewhere. Otherwise, they might be about to add 2 or 3 more young guys to develop from this upcoming draft.

Tristan Vucevic and Nikola Jovic are guys that I randomly like.

People are going to hate this, but my favorite player is Marcus Smart. He looks super washed right now, but maybe he has a good off season and looks better next year.

Brooklyn is probably looking to get rid of guys. Besides Cam Johnson, I'm not sure if there is anyone they have that I would want.

Trade Lauri with minimal returning salary then go poach Naz Reid.

My initial feeling on everyone here:

Veterans
01 - Lauri Markkanen (28) - $46.4 m - Trade, can keep if Flagg.
02 - John Collins (28) - Player Option $26 m - Likely trade, can keep if Lauri is traded and long term relationship is good. If Lauri is here, must trade.
03 - Collin Sexton (27) - expiring $19.2 m - Trade under any scenario.
04 - Jordan Clarkson (33) - expiring $14.3 m - Trade under any scenario.

Non-Guaranteed

01 - KJ Martin (25) - $8.0 m - Trade or waive
02 - Svi Mykhailiuk (28) - $3.7 m - Trade or waive
03 - Johnny Juzang (24) - $2.8 m - Keep
04 - Jaden Springer (23) - $2.4 m - Keep

Young Guys

01 - Taylor Hendricks (22) - $6.1 m - Keep
02 - Cody Williams (21) - $5.7 m - Keep
03 - Walker Kessler (24) - $4.9 m - Keep
04 - Keyonte George (22) - $4.3 m - Keep
05 - Kyle Filipowski (22) - 3.0 m - Keep
06 - Bryce Sensabaugh (22) - $2.7 m - Keep/Potentially trade if we don't believe in him. I think Brice will have value
07 - Isaiah Collier (21) - $2.6 m - Keep
08 - Gabriel Prodica - International - Stay in Europe
09 - Top 5 Rookie
10 - Top 20 Rookie
11 - Mid-2nd Round Pick
12 - Mid-2nd Round Pick

Free Agents / 2- Way Players
01 - Micah Potter (27) - $2.0 m cap hold - Waive
02 - Oscar Tshiebwe (26) - $2.0 m cap hold - Waive
03 - Elijah Harkless (25) - 2 Way - Keep on two way
