Funny how Leonard dominates after we talked about him.

“Is someone leaving our staff that I don't know about?” Buford said when asked about the Messina report. “We have not had one conversation with anyone about a coaching position for next season.”
Dis!!!Ya, I'm not high on Leonard. He doesn't strike me as a star. Put him on another team and it probably looks a lot different. Good player. Won't ever be the best player on a really good team.
I'd probably still take Burks over him. I got faith Burks is going to be good still. I can't wait to see how the new coach plays him.
If Alec was on the Spurs there is no telling how good he would look.
Green wasn't taking LeBron off the dribble, effectively posting up Chris Bosh or hitting pull-up jumpers off pick and rolls...He also isn't one of the premier perimeter defenders in the league.still not super indicative of his self-sufficient scoring talent-- remember when there was talk of Green potentially getting Finals MVP if the Spurs won in 6?

"Franchise" player may be a stretch, especially if you think being a franchise players is ONLY about offense (as has been expressed in this thread). I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Kawhi is a top-20/All-NBA player 5 years from now.
Considering everything each player brings to the table, would those of you pimping Burks seriously not swap him for Kawhi straight up?

I would. I remember how surprised I was we didn't draft him in 2011. He would have filled a huge need for us.Considering everything each player brings to the table, would those of you pimping Burks seriously not swap him for Kawhi straight up?

Fair enough. Still, Danny's much more limited on offense than Kawhi. Kawhi's also the better defender IMO (his foot/recovery-speed + strength combo is impressive).First of all, Kawhi >>> Burks, no discussion. Hopefully Burks can narrow the gap eventually, but right now he's more Nick Young than Kawhi Leonard IMO.
Also, I'd definitely argue that Danny Green is one of the best defending 2-guards in the NBA. Him and Kawhi are probably the best defending 2/3 tandem in the league. Not sure what your measure of premier is, but Danny is most-certainly a premier 3andD player, and most certainly a very smart defender.
