What's new

Looks like the "vaccine argument" just got a little more interesting.

Would definitely like to watch this having two kids myself.

I tried to find a link on the sites I usually go to for movies. Couldn't find it. Let me know if you find a link somwhere.

Any movie that treat Barbara Loe Fisher as an expert will be of low quality.

Edit to add:

So you're saying "Orac", from a blog on Nat Geo is very high quality?
The movie features interviews with 13 different medical doctors, including but not limited to MD's and PHD's.

Nobodies saying you have to believe anything, but this movie definitely raises many questions, with multiple experts providing the evidence.

Yes. He's an MD who's been been reporting on the anti-vaccine movement for years. If you like, I can give you the blogs of at least five other doctors who will give you similar reports.

Expelled! had interviews with PZ Myers and Richard Dawkins. That didn't make it accurate nor fair in it's depiciton.

The movie is combination of cranks shown favorably and scientists shown selectively. It's not a reliable source. It's part of the long con game.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of an MD named just "Orac".

Not Expelled! Whoops, I overestimated the experts in the film by one.

We all know you're going to believe whichever side of the MD fence you choose to want to believe, so to each is own....
This was posted for people that actually want to take a look at that other side of the fence.

If you really want to know his meatspace name, it's readily available.

They are not two sides of a fence. They are two sides of a guard rail. I'll take the side that is firmly planted in the ground.

This was posted for people that actually want to take a look at that other side of the fence.

I've been on the other side of that guard rail, based on trusting the wrong person (my sister) who herself trusted the wrong person (the con man). I managed to climb back up, but it has not been easy.

I don't even know what this "vaccine argument" is all about.

Is it saying certain vaccines cause autism?
Is it saying all vaccines cause autism?
Is it saying certain vaccines contribute to autism?
Is it saying all vaccines contribute to autism?

Are parasitic tort lawyers like John Edwards pushing this?

Vice presidential candidate John Edwards made $40 million to $80 million -- he won't say how much -- pushing tort lawsuits, many of them related to cerebral palsy, which he attributed to doctors not doing C-sections.

What happened afterward? C-sections increased from 7 percent of all births to over 30 percent.

This is why I call lawyers "parasites." C-sections are bad for lots of reasons. They cost much more, they require a longer hospital stay, and they are riskier to the woman.

Have the extra C-sections at least reduced the rate of cerebral palsy? No. Not a bit. Turns out that, in most cases, the lawyers were wrong.

Ah meatspace...... I guess I'm just out of the loop there.

Yes, and that guard rail is defined differently by each side.
And just as you take the stance on your side.
I'll take mother nature for me and my family, over man made drugs and chemicals any day.

I'd be interested to know your story.
Just to get down to the fact of why you would want to inject things like that into your body.

The arguments are about a lot of things.
One side says there is substantial evidence vaccines cause autism, and a whole host of other health problems (mostly because of the mercury content, and other preservatives inside).

The other side says there's no possible way.
And also claims that those preservatives are not present in vaccines.
Regardless of the inserts saying the exact opposite.

Hmmm The FDA does say Mercury is dangerous to children:

There are more cases of autism because doctors are starting to treat it more.

Vaccines probably have some side effects but they don't kill kids. Vaccines have saved millions and millions of lives.

The best cons are where the mark thinks they really know what's going on, and everyone else is foolish.

Feel free to ignore that fact that Mother nature has no qualms at all about seeing you dead and buried, while the companies making the drugs are staffed and overseen by humans who preferto avoid killing.

I'd be interested to know your story.

Feel free to ask.

Just to get down to the fact of why you would want to inject things like that into your body.

1) They keep me healthy
2) They help progtect everyone else
3) The risk is negligible

I think it's wrong to perform cosmetic surgery on infants. This is just as true of male circumcision and piercing a baby girls ears.

I was circumcised and pierced my duaghters ears at 6 months. You will be happy to know that we all survived those harrowing surgeries and are recovering nicely.
