I bet he has a poor defense.

That's a Lowe blow.
We shouldn't joke, I'm sure this is a very taxing situation.
Holy **** I thought this was a joke. Anyone know for how long or how serious the crime is? When it comes to gov. finances, I'm clueless.
EDIT- Wesley Snipes got 3 years for not filing his taxes......

Yikes. I thought this might be a psyche thread, but I guess not.
They are misdemeanors (willful failure to file a North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return), meaning the max punishment is less than a year in jail. However, when there are multiple charges they can be sentenced consecutively rather than concurrently - meaning you serve time for charge 1, then after that you serve charge 2, then charge 3.
However, it's a a state charge for not filing with the state. This isn't the IRS/Federal Government. Like PKM said, he likely won't get jail time. He'll pay some fines, pay some interest, and plead no contest or guilty to a reduced charge or have two of them dismissed.
That's why this is different from Wesley Snipes' situation.
It's okay guys. He probably thought that bro. Romney was going to win. Romney guaranteed that only the poors would have to pay taxes.
