Good question. It'll be interesting to get Lowe's statement on the matter. In my opinion, it's probably a matter of Lowe hiring a shady/lazy accountant and not paying attention more than anything.

Sounds about right. Like I said, it's probably more a matter of Lowe not paying enough attention than him intentionally not filing.

I agree. When it comes to taxes does the goverment, either state or federal, normally come out and just arrest people out of the blue? I don't believe so - someone was giving him bad advice on how to handle an ongoing matter.

Now that I think about it a little more, I guess there's an outside chance Lowe has some hidden expensive vice (gambling?) that would've put him in a spot where he couldn't afford to pay what he would've owed in state taxes so he didn't file and figured he'd get around to it eventually. I don't think that's likely, but it is possible.
