He's played like "a worthless piece of crap" for most of the season.

We blew it passing on Booker who is a gamer, tough, and a shot maker.

You can define things differently, but Lyles major problem this year -- I guarantee it -- was the mental side of the game. If you want to call that an attitude problem, then I'm fine with it. I've never soured on a player harder or faster. In my opinion, he wins the award for Disappointment of the Season, ahead of all the injury stories.

I saw some red flags during Summer League when Trey was the man. He was a black hole. The ball would go into him and the other players would never see it. Sure he was the leading scorer but a lot of the players he was playing against were destined to be playing in Cyprus. The Jazz win % with him as the man was not very good.
 
With all tje injury problems he had an excellent opportunity to really make a name for himself.
He didn't.
 
I hope he can turn it around and get his stroke back, but I don't see him playing a major role on this team going forward.
 
It seems like Quin started pulling him during the season because he was chucking and not running the offense. Then, every time he does get in, he does the same thing.

Either Quin is giving him mixed messages, or Lyles is an idiot.
 
The camera showed Lyles congratulating Curry at the end of the game...well kinda. Trey looked totally disinterested. Pretty much how he acted all season.
 
How are Exum and Bolomboy supposed to get summer league touches?
 
Lyles looked great 1 game. Spurs game 3 of the season, then after that he started to brick every wide open look he got.
 
I'm not giving up on him but he was a ****ing tuuuuuuuuurd this year. Chuckiest chucker since CJ Miles. Maybe even worse because at least Miles would have a good game once in a while.

He was given the chance to be the third big, and he met the challenge by doing everything that everyone knows loses games and gets players pulled out of the rotation.

If I could get his ear for 5 minutes, I'd tell him to D up, look to pass, and hustle for loose balls and rebounds. Because he did ****-all of any of those things whenever he got on the floor.

I'm sure the coaching staff told him the same thing over and over, and it doesn't stick in his brain.
