To be clear though I voted "slightly disagree" because I also think it can really get out of hand, and sometimes we need to curb our natural reaction and be real with people even if the "truth hurts", so to speak. It can also pretty easily become habit so lie first, tell the truth later, if ever. My son was tied to a girlfriend for a while who was the epitome of this. Even when the truth was completely benign and there was nothing at stake she opted for the lie, no matter how small.
I think I responded the same, for essentially the same reasons.

You mean like not lying to your wife that you cheated on her even when your 6 children will now have to live their entire childhood in poverty for your 15 seconds of pleasure mistake? Is that what you're talking about?
