We need a playoff system. LSU would have been knocked off a long time ago against an offense that could actually score.

Miles just plays the field position game and for his offense not to lose. He depends on his defense and special teams to get the job done. He runs the most conservative option read offense ever.

Don't discount Bama's D. Probably one of the most dominant college Defenses ever. I am all for a playoff. Bama just won the national championship and they didn't even win their conference. Would have liked to see at least an And One at a minimum. I have said a 8 team playoff with the 6 BCS champs and 2 At Large teams would work but there would still be teams like Clemson and WV that would have gotten in this year.

Bama's defense was beast last night.

I have no doubt that Bama's defense was one of the best we've ever seen at the college... or pro level....

But LSU's offense is weird.

What exactly are they trying to run? What are they trying to accomplish? It's like a grab-bag of plays.

They're not a pro-style attack like Bama or Stanford. It's not the (conservative) shotgun spread like Florida. It's no the high octane fast shotgun spread like Oregon or Boise St. It's not the option like G. Tech or Air Force.

It's a mix of everything. As a result, they're not very good at anything either.

And Jemarcus Russel has always sucked at QB. How that kid ever made LSU's roster is beyond me.

Their offense just appeared waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy confused, LSU overall looked waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too conservative, and Bama played like it was the NC game. Sabin was going to kill LSU or die trying. LSU looked as Jslo would say, "WANTING TO DANCE IN TUXEDOS."

What was the Mad Hatter doing this past month? Jackpotting with Fess and CJ Miles?

Jefferson just doesn't know how to run the option or else they didn't coach him up on what to do when the option gets slow-played by the DE (or QB assigned player).

Also LSU's defense is very vanilla. They just line up and play base mostly knowing their athletes are better than yours. So Bama knew exactly what looks they were going to get.

But Bama's defense changes weekly. Lots of blitzing from different looks and shifting besides. Give Saban 43 days to prepare and that's what you get.
