It's completely irrelevant whether we finish with the worst, second worst, or third worst record.
Incorrect. There is an advantage to finishing with the worst record.

Jazz easily got 2 of the top 10 players of last year's draft, and not with their lottery pick.
Ya that Ainge guy might just know what he is doing

Yes, it does impact the floor, but the floor doesn't matter at all in this class. It's extremely flat from 3 to like 12.
You should have just ended the post with the fact you presented and left out the opinion.

In terms of floor yes, but I don't think floor matters in this draft as it's pretty flat from 3 to 12.
So the answer is, yes there is an advantage to finishing with the worst record.
You aren't Danny Ainge. You want the 7th pick and the 5th pick the exact same amount. I can guarantee that Ainge (and every other GM in the league) would rather have the 5th pick than the 7th pick.

One thing is for certain....if you believe that there is some kind of "tier" where players are the same value, we're still going to want to be drafting at the top of that tier. Remember the enthusiasm for drafting our last choice Hendricks?

"We are excited to get the guy who was #9 on our big board... (With the 9th pick, so worst case scenario)" -Zanik lol

That was an awful game. The cream of the Jazz draft class the last two years lost to an essentially G-league team. Great for the tank, less great for fueling optimism about the team's future. There's losing for the purpose of tanking, but there's also losing in humiliating fashion to a shiitey team and sacrificing any remnants of self-respect in the process. It damned-well better be worth it.

While I don't 100% agree with what you are saying for this game (Grimes, Oubre, and Yabusele are all NBA rotation players), losing as much as we have with our young guys is a two edged sword. Yes, it's good to have a better chance at a higher draft pick, but it's bad that our players aren't good enough to win games against bad competition.

Well-said. I perhaps exaggerated a bit for effect, but the general sentiment remains.

If you play a lot if first and 2nd year players not named Kessler, rhe defense is going to be awful, especially when the default gameplan includes Kessler. Flip was awesome, he is not yet a stopper. I'm fine with continuing to develop him as they are currently doing. We are developing Williams and Hendricks for defense.

I disagree. Grimes/Walker probably have more career games than the entire roster the Jazz played, and it was a road game.

The guys you want to see play well for the Jazz generally played well (Flip/Keyonte/Collier/Sensabaugh/Juzang) but filled the game with rookie mistakes that cost us, along with the bench/guys who wont be on the roster in 1-2 years playing poorly.

I'm not complaining that we are losing games.

It is a little concerning that our young guys haven't played well enough to win us even a single game against the worst competition in the NBA.

Is it though? The last 3 games each team we played has played a more experienced roster than the Jazz.

It's not that concerning, and it's not any individual game. It's kind of the total of all of our games against the worst teams in the NBA. We haven't won any of them. Even Trey Burke was leading us to wins every now and then.

On the other hand our top picks over the last two years are injured and a project in a bad draft, so having our 16th pick, 28th pick, 29th pick, and 31st pick not being good enough to get wins isn't a huge deal.

I mean if our 3rd year center just got Potter's minutes, we probably win by double digits. We held Kyle out a lot longer than we would have if we were trying to win the game as well. The Jazz could just as easily blundered into a win anyways.

They held Kyle out because he was in foul trouble...
