So damn true.
Just to be clear, my comment wasn’t meant as an indictment of Paschall. He’s got value and should get some reserve minutes imo. But to go from not playing at all to starting on the road against maybe the hottest team in the league while sitting on the guy that had been in that role and had performed well enough to help the team prevail against playoff vying teams and stay in a game against a juggernaut “dream team”, that’s a different thing altogether. Why would you want to change something that had been working for you? And, more importantly, why would you want to remove the glue guy from the starting lineup and replace him with the guy that had been benched for not playing within the system? That, in and of itself, is a recipe for disaster imo.GS give up on him for almost nothing and now I can imagine why lol. Zero reb and he can't shoot and in combo with royce and Rudy who's not getting ball you end wit DM choking. When all be available I woud like to see huan or House instead of royce. But this is not gonna happen i guess...
You are probably right but man ppl here glorified bench guys like ... And then when they got apertunity to show something they suck.We can pray for everyone be healthy for PO and than we can measure whose bring something on the table and who can't pull hes own weightJust to be clear, my comment wasn’t meant as an indictment of Paschall. Some of our fans don't deserve Rudy. It's not always easy to find you Rudy when you can only do something with the ball within 2 feet of the basket.
And I'm sure the Celtics shooting 59% is everybody else's fault.

We appreciate him for the good he brings but he can't create his own offensive. He needs to be hand fed or score on put backsSome of our fans don't deserve Rudy.
We have the best offense in the NBA largely because of Rudy sucking defenders in and being the best screener in the NBA, but Jazz fans here are like "bUt hE nO dOeS sCoRe PoInTs!"We appreciate him for the good he brings but he can't create his own offensive. He's underpaid for the value he brings to us.The dude makes close to 40M a year if he has a bad game we certainly can talk about it and we have every right to be upset that he has never attempted to even get one post move down and put to memory that he can use. I don’t think it’s that much to ask.
If I was Snyder I would have a metric for % of missed opportunities to Gobert. In other words how many times a simple pass would have likely resulted in a Gobert dunk. Smaller ball handlers are going to have a harder time seeing the floor and being aware of all of the opportunities, but they should be looking for it more often.Jazz really need a tall playmaker. RIP Ingles
I think the way Rudy plays makes it harder for shorter players to feed him. You really got to be patient with Gobert on his rolls and let him get into position while freezing your defender. Smaller guards are better at using their speed to collapse the defense then kick out.
Then again if Mitchell was less worried about Gobert getting too much credit, he'd probably give him more passes when it's clearly easy to do so, but Mitchell will always take the points himself to make sure that doesnt happen.
I have been saying this for years. Rudy provides the high floor of the team. Mitchell and others are the limits of the ceiling, But without Gobert the floor would be lottery. Probably mid-to low-lottery. He keeps us competitive almost single-handedly. He IS the defense. Full-stop. Some players can guard any one player on the floor, Gobert is the guy that guards everyone. So when he has an off-game we really feel it, as it affects literally everything else. He is so under-appreciated it is criminal. We have the best offense in the NBA largely because of Rudy sucking defenders in and being the best screener in the NBA, but Jazz fans here are like "bUt hE nO dOeS sCoRe PoInTs!"
This isn't even a playoff team without him.
I like the guy and he plays with heart. But he's soft as Charmin and opponents know it.Some of our fans don't deserve Rudy.

He will be exposed more in the playoffs. We pay him to generate an offensive game, but he rather do boxingWe have the best offense in the NBA largely because of Rudy sucking defenders in and being the best screener in the NBA, but Jazz fans here are like "bUt hE nO dOeS sCoRe PoInTs!"

This just shows you don't understand team defense. As soon as they go 5 out they stop the inside out game and start passing and cutting. Since no one else plays defense it's up to Rudy to not only cover his own man at the 3 pt line but to stem the tide of constant runs to the rim since no one else can stay in front of anyone. So Rudy has to scramble. It's the same tired narrative from the playoffs last year. Rudy was exposed. The only reason people say that is because he's the only one making the effort and trying to defend literally everything. And because they don't understand the concept of team defense. The one thing exposed was our tiny defensively-challenged backcourt and wings. We don't know that. Just because Quin only knows how to coach a system built around Rudy doesn't mean we can't be successful without him.
Sure if we lost Rudy for nothing we would struggle, but basketball can be played in ways other than the way we play it. Its actually that different way of playing (5 shooters/scorers) that beats our ***.
