people just don't understand Don is our only reliable shot creator on the team. it's almost like Luka's situation before Dinwiddie's arrival. The man drop 40 a game and his team still lose. Didn't Donovan average 30 a game last post-season?

Bogey is clutch and Conley can make some nice play. but when there's a defender standing in front of them, can they beat their defender to get the shot off? So much is on Rudy's screen assist and constant ball movement to get the guys open but when they aren't, Don's the only one we have who can beat the defense to put up a shot.

Playoffs basketball is won by stars who can beat you one on one. Like even when Giannis dominated Phoenix last year, he's still got Jrue and Middleton who could create offense when he rests on the bench. Lebron had AD in 2020 and has always got at least one star right next to him. Kawhi led the Raptors in 2019 but both Lowry and Vanvleet came through in a big way. Who's our second star who could take the matter in his own hand when Donovan struggles?
Sorry Jom but that’s just stinkin thinkin! Why wouldn’t the reigning 6th man of the year not be able to reprise his primary role in clutch time? He’s our most versatile creator imo! Why couldn’t Conley run the pick n’ roll with Gobert? He’s our best distributor imo! Why couldn’t Bogey post up or pop from three? Our best post up and our best catch and shoot three guy! Whether or not you agree, those are all several good options we continue to ignore in favor of this fiasco Don show!

Anybody really naive enough to think that Don isn’t aware of his clutch woes? That he has no scar tissue to exacerbate the situation?

This team has major loser energy… just hot garbage.

You’d think we’d respond with some toughness after getting curb stomped… but this team just lacks cajones

Also the refs were poopy garbage. I have no idea what they were doing out there but anytime refs decide to allow murder I know we are at the disadvantage cuz we play with hands off.

Jazz need Bogey, Whiteside and probably House as well. Gay and Forrest can't play. Royce is limited.

Rudy couldn’t catch a cold tonight , didn’t D plum up at all ..

I think when Bojan comes back I’d like to start the Mexican at 4 and Bojan at the 3 …
Didn't D plum up at all? Plumlee went off for 1 point lol.

because when opponents goes small and switches on everything, none of the pick n roll or catch n shoot stuff would be there unfortunately. when Conley or whoever runs the pick n roll, instead of having Rudy screening off Conley's man to make him open, opponent just switches defenders so they have Rudy's guy guarding Conley and there's no space created. when there's no space created guys like Bogey wouldn't be able to get his shot off as there's always a man standing in front of him.

Just watch NOLA game when Bogey shot 1-11 and we lost by 34. almost none of his shots were wide open, neither could he create some space himself to get a better shot. NOLA benched their starting big man Jonas after mere 17min of action and went small on us. then it's all one on one basketball from there as we recorded a new low 15 assist in that game. the lowest assists number for a team is 21 per game.

He got a bunch of offensive boards that shouldn’t have happened. Rudy wasn’t good tonight. Not a lot of guys we’re so whatevs.

There is no question that Donovan holds the key to this team’s ultimate success. The problem is that he is not (yet) good enough.

Here’s the real question: Are the mistakes he is making now necessary growing pains on his way to superstardom or is he just learning bad habits?

I think Donovan and Tatum have some interesting parallels as they were both drafted into playoff-level teams and have been tasked with/allowed to “learn on the job”. It has looked good at times and really bad at other times. Time will tell how it turns out in the end for each of them.

I think we’re seeing the results of coming up empty over the last few drafts. We lack energy. Had we drafted Bane and Herb Jones, we wouldn’t be lacking energy. This team has a lot of shooters on it but very few energy guys aside from Pascal and… well… hmmm

Alot of shooter's but we barely can score 100 since bojan is out...

Hornets 16 orb total that's alot. Plumlee got 4 in the 3Q. Rudy didn't boxed him out he was camping underneath touching nobody

Dark cloud but a real silver lining as far as I’m concerned. I don’t see how Snyder can overlook Hernangomez on the bench anymore. With what Gay has been contributing recently, that’s a real plus - provided of course that Snyder somehow grows a pair, and is willing to incur the wrath of Gay when he cuts his minutes!

I was at the game and the narrative was like “I can’t believe we are only down by x, we’re going to lose”. “I can’t believe we are only down by y, we’re going to lose”.

Generally an optimist but this game had a terrible vibe. Body language, 50-50 balls, hustle, no box outs.

Not good

You forgot all teh loser energy we have.

Kidding aside… once we got Donovan I always felt like we needed one more draft home run… at least needed a double. We could have signed an energy guy (or what I call a “do ****” guy… someone who does **** other than score) or an *******/enforcer. We went for sacrifice flys and bunts with Tony Bradley and Udoka. Allen was whatever… but we flushed a ton of seconds down the drain… rather than looking for more opportunities to draft guys we traded our picks for Conley and cap relief. The draft is a crap shoot… I get it… it’s also the way small markets have to build their talent base.

Ya i mentioned that i thought it was one of goberts worst games but its not like plumlee went off offensively. Maybe the poster should have said gobert should have boxed out better? Of course gober had 19 rebounds and 17 of them were defensive rebounds so thats not too bad imo.
