Is Jalen Green good? Starting to wonder if we should be paying closer attention to him since a trade with a nucleus of Lauri/KD/Green makes some sense at first blush.

Are you saying that Houston is going to trade for Lauri and KD, or that we are going to trade for KD and Green?

KD is gonna be traded and Houston makes the most sense as a landing spot. Green makes the most sense as the salary matching ballast, but Phoenix most certainly won’t want him at least for reasons of fit but they will want an all-star that’s a good fit, so Lauri goes to Phoenix.

  • KD -> Houston
  • Lauri -> Phoenix
  • Green -> Utah (maybe rerouted to Detroit or Orlando, both of whom will have all their future picks available and unencumbered after this draft and a need for volume spacing/scoring.)

There would be other pieces in there, probably Sheppard to Utah and some draft assets to level out value.

I think Cade and Green hate each other. I also wonder if Danny would just want to keep Green if we did a deal with them. I'd like to see what the numbers look like with Green on the court and Sengun off.
 
Green still needs to take step with his shooting and he is their worst regular rotation guy with regard to on-off differential... and its kind of by a lot.

It’s always felt to me that Green and (prime) Clarkson are the same player, but I’m not sure I’m being fair. I can see how that could be a tire worth kicking, but if I can get a 1st and expiring salary (or possibly mostly dumping him into Detroit’s space), I might just do that.

I think Green still has some juice and can be better than that. At least he can get his without having to just go cook and be a ball stopper maybe.
 
Cody's been more engaged. He's rotating and touching the ball on offense instead of just standing in the corner. He opened the game with a mid-range jumper off a set play.

Whatever the Jazz's defensive scheme is, it keeps sucking defenders down into the paint and leaves open 3pt shooters.
 
So much wrong with Brice, but the guy is 21 and an ELITE shooter. I think he's gonna be in the league for a long time.
