Marc Gasol over Al Jefferson?

I can understand Gasol over Al, but Mansap should have made it over Dirk. He has clearly outplayed every power forward in the west besides blake, love, and aldridge.
 
You would think the coaches would be smart enough to pick the player having a career year on a surprising team over a player playing way below his usual numbers on a so far disappointing team. I guess our last hope now is Evans getting invited (and dominating) the slam dunk contest.
 
The jazz beat Blake , Love, and Aldridge 3 of 4 games, and the game they lost was by 2 points with the refs giving the Clips some of the worst calls in history to keep Millsap and the Jazz down and Griffin and Paul looking good.
 
Even though Big Al totally outplayed Gasol the Younger last night in their head-to-head duel, I'm sure he values the W more than being an All-star...

Also, All-Star game selections mean nothing. Someone mentioned Yao Ming above, he is retired and I'm still surprised he wasn't voted in as the starting center for both the east and the west.

Your right Jefferson did have the better game last night so he must be the superior player.

Hayward outplayed Gay last night so I guess he is also the better player.

Hypothetical question for you Beantown. If you could have Jefferson or Gasol for the next 3 years, where they have identical contracts, who would you want?

I would take Jefferson. Gasols post up game consists of a hook shot.

Also the only reason his stats are up is because they have no PF. Look at his stats last year when he had Randolph.

Umm.... 97.3% of Jefferson's shots are hook shots. I could see you maybe taking Jefferson for the next 3 years in fantasy basketball (even though Gasol probably has better numbers this year). But much like NY and Melo, this team will play better and develop better without Al being here.

Jefferson has better numbers this year and Gasol is only up this year because he is the Grizzlies ONLY low post option.

They do have very similar numbers but Gasol beats Jefferson in every category besides points. Numbers aside, this team would be better having Gasol over Jefferson. But the thing is, I don't really care about Gasol, we simply need Jefferson gone in order to free up more minutes for Kanter/Favors. Because the only goal this year is to develop Favors/Kanter/Hayward/Burks/Evans, and besides Hayward, no one is getting the minutes they need.
