March Madness Thread

Gonzaga has the most easy street path to the championship I've ever seen - especially if Oregon and their 200 lb skinny *** bigs is the matchup. But just everything up until this point has been lining up about as good as you could hope for them.

South Carolina is going to murder them.

Your margin of error is so small to beat Gonzaga unless you can play Karnowski straight up. It's not that he's going to score 30 - he easily could - but he's the ultimate decoy that opens everything up. There's been one team with a guy big enough that Karnowski didn't completely overwhelm him - BYU - and that's their loss. If you have to pack the paint, I just don't see it happening. 240 lb bigs aren't big enough - that's what South Carolina is bringing to the table.

They will guard him fine. You are acting like Karnowski drops 30 on the regular, he has never dropped 30 in his career, his career high is like 22 and those were against ****ty small schools. Zags won't be able to handle SC's ball pressure. And Karnowski has to defend and stay in the game against aggressive guards like Thornwell who will get him in foul trouble.

Zags played 1 SEC team this year, Tennessee, an average SEC team who started at 6'7 235 pound center on the Great Karnowski and guess how many poitns the great one scored? 10 in 31 minutes while committing 5 turnovers. SO spare me with this Karnowski talk. SC is the much tougher team and they are going to run circles around the Zags. SC has 3 big bodies they can throw at him and they can bring help if needed and recover quickly enough to bother 3pt shooters.

The Zags did play a very physical and athletic WV team already, keep in mind.

Yeah but Thornwell and Dozier are so much more talented on the perimeter than anything WV has, much tougher covers. You put anyone small on Thornwell and he just overpowers them and he when they play anyone bigger he just blows by. They also play Dozier at point and it creates a lot of mismatches since he is so big.

Only weakness for Carolina is they arent a great 3pt shooting team, but they defend better than anyone left in the tourney and they have the best player left IMO.
