Mario Hezonja - perfect fit?

I am fairly sure I’d only offer a one year deal with a team option to anyone we sign using the MLE... we want max FA money... go bargain hunting this FA period there is no money out there... go find a home run.

Sounds like you are in favor of Signing Hezonja.

I REALLY want Herzonia. I think the wasteland of Orlando has really been a detriment to his overall value. He has the skills and physical attributes to be everything Snyder and hte staff need to mold into a very productive player. He has the athleticism and size to be a good defender if he is in the right system.

I don't know if signing Herzonia means we cannot go after Favs or not. But if I could only have one of the two, I would pick Herzonia, just from his flexibility, spacing the floor, age, physical athleticism, and his best ball still being ahead of him.

Unless the Jazz chase a major free agent, they could pretty easily keep Favors and Exum and add Hezonja

That should be the plan.

#1 - Let Thabo walk because our deadline with him is 7/1
#2 - Re-sign Exum before July 6 (so his cap hold will drop from $15 million to hopefully around $8)
#3 - Re-sign Favors before July 6 (so his cap hold will drop from $18 million to about $10)
#4 - Find out what Hezonja wants before July 9th (MLE $8.8 or less)
- If we have to let Udoh so we can sign Hezonja, then so be it. We would have Favors as our backup C.
- If we have to let Jonas AND Udoh go to sign Hezonja, then so be it although I would prefer to keep Jerekbo.

PG Rubio, Exum
SG Donovan, Grayson
SF and PF Ingles, Crowder, Favors, O'Neale, Hejonza, Jerekbo
C Gobert, Bradley

That's 12 strong players who give us a ton of roster flexiblity and matchup options.

I agree with the internal growth of the Jazz
A) Resign Exum
B) Resign Favors
C) Sign Hezonja in FA

A healthy Exum is ready to take a major leap this year making a Mitchell/Exum backcourt scary and super athletic.Rubio will start and play but Exum will carve out minutes with his play.
I think you'll see Ingles slide up and play more backup PF in Jazz version of smallball
Favors continues where he left off starting as PF with Gobert but staggering the Center position when Gobert rests
Hezonja cuts into O'Neales minutes because of his versatility and upgrade in offensive potential.
Personally I hope the Jazz start to run more with a healthier Exum ,the addition of Allen and hopefully Hezonja through FA to further open up the offense of Mitchell in a more uptempo offense conducive to his talent.
