teph Curry’s great. Steph Curry’s the MVP. He’s a champion. Understand what I’m saying when I say this. He’s hurting the game. And what I mean by that is that I go into these high school gyms, I watch these kids, and the first thing they do is they run to the 3-point line. You are not Steph Curry. Work on the other aspects of the game. People think that he’s just a knock-down shooter.

How shameful of Curry. I bet he's contemplating retiring at the end of the season following this revelation.

Pretty much the same story with every scoring star in league history. Everybody wants to score the points, it's fun.

Pretty sure Curry is generating more $$$ for the NBA this year alone than Jackson could ever make in a lifetime.

He has a very valid point. People try to emulate Curry and it's just not something you can do if don't have a certain skill level.

Is it "ruining the game"? No, but I do think there is an uptick among younger players trying to do those things instead of playing fundamental and sound basketball.

Kinda like Iverson.

Suddenly errybody thought that they could pull off sick crossovers and finish difficult layups

I think it's idiotic to suggest that the superstars who inspire kids to pick up a basketball in the first place, and then try things with it that they might never have considered, are ruining the game. Every one of these guys (Alan Iverson, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, Steph Curry, John Stockton,...) are progressing the game, and Marc Jackson is an idiot.

And what's Curry supposed to do, anyway? Not shoot? Not try to win?

The things Mark Jackson says to stay relevant...

The there's a reason why he was fired despite winning a lot of games. The dude is a complete tool.

you should see the emulation of Kobe on the courts in LA. It's ridiculous. It's all made me appreciate growing up watching Stockton.

No, you are simply overreacting to a hyperbole and not reading the entire quote. He isn't saying Curry should stop being Curry, but that kids trying to emulate that one aspect of his game (the quick 3pt shot) are ignoring all the other skill development a guy like Curry had to go through to get to where he is.

He should play like an end of the bench guy. It would be so good for the game. After all, if he continues on this pace he will make more three pointers in just two seasons (2014-15 and 2015-16)than Larry Bird (considered to be one of the best three point shooters of all time) did in his entire 13 year NBA career.
