Mark Stein Reports Raptors trying to dump Ridnour to land Brewer

With us not signing adding a shooting guard (other than injured Brandon Rush), and trading Randy Foye to Denver, I would assume that the SG position is Burks to lose. He doesn't need to spend time at PG if he is getting all of the starter's minutes at SG. We do need a veteran back up point though.

Why is everyone just assuming that Hayward is going to play small forward? Pretty much his entire career, he has played shooting guard. If the Jazz want to get Burks minutes, then he needs to play some point as well. I think the Jazz see Hayward starting at the 2, with Burks being the primary backup 2, and getting some minutes at the 1 as well. Hayward might get some minutes at the small forward spot, but I think he is better suited to be a shooting guard.

San Antonio's losing season way back when sure didn't breed any more losing.

Neither did OKC's, Chicago's, Indiana's, Memphis's,.... Bad organizations lead to bad teams. Both will have ups and down years, but bad org's have way more bad seasons (see GS, Minn, LAC) while good organizations have many more good years (Chicago, Utah, SA, Lakers, etc).

Utah is a good organization. Getting a top 5 pick next year makes them a great one, ala OKC and SA.

I absolutely did not want us to re-sign Millsap or Jefferson. That is because we had players behind them that deserve more playing time and resigning those two would have continued to slow their growth. However, the same cannot be said at the PG position. We don't know if Trey Burke is going to pan out or not, as he has not even played a game yet. What if he is a bust? Should we not do everything in our power to improve or team when we can?

Getting a top 5 pick does that the quickest.

It's Hayward's to lose. The paper talked about how the Jazz want Burks to be the man off the bench this year.

I can't remember if it was tweets yesterday or a news story, but it talked about how the Jazz want Burks to be the man off the bench. That tells me they are planning on starting Hayward at the 2 and Rush at the 3.
