Marvin for Jimmer?

Saw on a site that Sac is looking for more depth at SF and that Jimmer would be the trade bait. How about us trading Marvin for Jimmer? Not sure of the salary / cap ramafications for Sac though. I know everyone on here is against us getting Jimmer, but why not give him a chance. It might be his last chance in the NBA. We've got nothing to lose -- no one wants Marvin here, except maybe Corbin.

Solid tank 4 Wuggins move.

£¥£

Haha, I am now of the opinion that Jimmer on the Jazz would be Tebow on the Broncos all over again. Anything beneficial he brings would be drowned in a sea of crap from non Jazz fans going on and on about how great Jimmer is.

He has been shootin 3's at a solid %. I don't think it is his last chance at all. Even if he doesn't play many minutes he should be able to find a spot on a roster somewhere.

Hell yes.

I'd trade Marvin for any player in the NBA.

Lol this.

Hack you are my most compatible jazz fan.
Love burks, and evans more than most.

Loathe marvin and teh vets.

You're my ninja

I looked at some Sac Kings messages boards. Their fans seem hot and cold on him. Most want him gone and a few think they are nuts for not playing him. I would be ok with trading a 2nd round pick for him, but not M williams. I am not really a fan of williams but I think he could fetch a better asset at the trade deadline. Jimmer fighting for a spot on the end of our bench would be ok. I don't think we have a wesley in our camp roster this year so you know what you would get with Jimmer sitting at the end of the bench.

Marvin really isn't as bad as everybody is putting him out to be. At the very least he plays good defense. I don't think he can get worse from last year and he's going to be healthy this year. He's a good locker room guy.

As for Jimmer, it sounds like the Kings won't sign his team option so he'll be a free agent soon.

I say do it, and not because I think Jimmer is better than Marvin, but because Jimmer will help us sell tickets to the tank show. He'll also help us get rid of Corbin, because the amount of crazed Y fans calling to demand Jimmer gets more playing time would be too much to put up with. If Corbin plays him, we'll suck defensively on the perimiter (thus he fails his #1 objective); and if he doesn't play him, the f/o will finally start to see Corbin as the polarizing and divisive force that he is, and thus not want to continue with him for fear of permanently alienating their audience (who is fine with a rebuild, but only under competent hands).

Utah would probably also have to take John Salmons to make the deal work and he has 2 years and close to $16 million left. Salmons used to be a good, yet inconsistent player, but I don't think he has much left in the tank, sort of of like Richard Jefferson. I'd pass unless Sacramento through in a draft pick.

Jimmer is like the worst player on the Kings. Why would we trade anything to get him? Just because Provo thinks we need to have BYU's finest doesn't mean he is a good NBA player. I wish Utah's fascination with him would just go away. He's an awful player. And if we're only making moves to "sell tickets" why didn't we trade for Bogut and Andre Miller too? Let's pull Keith Van Horn out of retirement.

Only way you trade Marvin is for something in next years draft or a young role player you want to keep long term. JF is neither of those. Marvin is fine and he does a lot to help on D. If we hang on to him and simply get his cap space for next year that is better than trading him for something we don't want or need. Just say no to Jimmer.

While these are all good ideas for us to get Jimmer, Miller and Bogut... I don't think Van Horn will come out of retirement and I also think Shawn Bradley is done.

The fact is we don't need Jimmer right now. We could have used him last year when the focus was play no defense and shoot more 3's, but this year is different.

ps - I <3 the Jimmer - I hope he gets traded to an EC team and I hope he gets a shot. I still think he could be a good scoring bench player. Maybe he'll go to the heat and win 10 championships just to tick the haters off. I would lulz
