Mathews signs offer sheet w/Blazers (5 yrs/34 mil)

If the Jazz are not going to get out of the tax and they match, base salary + bonus + luxury tax hit will cost the Jazz around 16 million for the first year.
 
Ok, i was getting ready to ask you if you had lost your mind. Lets also start Gaines over DWILL while we are at it :) Am I missing Miles in there somewhere?

Actually, I'd start AK, in the fantasyland of my coaching the Jazz, to begin the season and move him back to the bench as soon as I was sure Haywood had finished puberty.

The Jazz should NOT match Mathews. He is only been in the NBA 1 year. Most all others rookies you have 3 years to see if they can be consistant. There are many rookies that have great 1st years and then slump off. Mathews could easily be one of these players because he surprised alot of teams....even the Jazz. Next season players will be looking to defend him now. Lets hope he has a sophmore slump and then some for the Blazers.
