Matt Barnes was arrested for domestic violence charges. In the article it also mentions how he may have slapped an assistant coach from an opposing team in summer league.

I always liked him as a player and thought he'd make a good Jazz man. Now I am glad the Jazz didn't sign him this summer.

hey, I think I recall chitownjazz saying that the mother of a friend of his came up with that slogan!!!

anyway, that's too bad - but who knows what really happened, sometimes these things are not quite what they seem on the surface*


*back in the days when folks still had to use phones that plugged into the wall, I witnessed two friends in an argument involving a phone, and the guy was trying to make a call, and his girlfriend was trying to get the phone away from him. He finally let go and the momentum made her hit herself in the head with the phone. She had a nasty bump - in her explanation for how she got the bump, she didn't say he hit her but she didn't really make the situation clear either.

yeah, neither here nor there, and certainly the report that he may have slapped an opposing team's coach doesn't make it look good for Matt Barnes.

...yeah, he would have made a great Jazz man! Body loaded with jail-house tats, noted for total disregard for running plays and listening to the coach....basically a real 1st class jerk! He could have been the new face of the Jazz!

...yeah, I'm sure Barnes is the innocent victim in this unfortunate incident. No question he was either framed, set up or just accidentally became involved even though he was minding his own business!

This is shocking. Barnes always comes across so mild mannered and even tempered.
