Mavs vs. Heat Finals Thread

The worst flopper this series is JJ Barea. I hate that guy so much. If someone touches him on defense, he snaps his neck back like he got rear-ended by a semi truck.

.....Barea has had 2 pretty bad games. But he's got to use whatever the rules and refs let him get by with. I just hope he starts hitting some shots!

And fans still to this day say he didn't get favored in the 06 series. Love how he has enough time to see if the shot goes in and then when it doesn't, he covers his eye. What an idiot.

....he broke the record for most free throw attempts for a 6 game series by a ton! Even Wade knows he was involved in the biggest hosing of an opposing team in NBA history!

....well, obvious to even the most casual basketball fan, the biggest key to the Mav's closing out the Heat in Dallas will be there ability to keep their turnovers under control! The excell in a free lance open court setting....and they turned game 2 into a hopper dunkathon when the Mav's carelessly turned the ball over. I don''t think it was so much pressure defense by the Heat, either! Looked more like unforced errors on the part of the Mav's. Some were caused by good defense, but not most of them. Once the turnovers stopped, the open court dunks stopped....and the Mav's slowed the pace down and executed well enough to convert 9 of their last 10 shots! THe Heat, on the other hand....went into a jumpshooting melt down that was beyond belief! The Mav's backed off enough making it difficult for them to drive around and also to tempt them into taking the outside shots, and they missed a ton of them. The Heat don't like to run plays, preferring to rely on their "athletic" ability to "create" shots....and boy, did they create some! Those long missed 3 pointers resulted in some nice fast break baskets by the Mav's during that run. So, Mav's win all three if they keep their turnovers under 12 and keep making their open shots. Heat bring it back to South Beach if they can force turnovers and get the Mav's out in the open court...cut and dry!

I like Van Gundy btw, I think he is one of the better announcers. I wouldn't say he does a bad job, based on one example.

JVG is very good. Mark Jackson however sucks like no other. Too bad we can't get Reggie Miller or Steve Kerr instead.

...VanGundy is generally pretty good...although he can sometimes make outlandish statements that defy logic! Jackson is strictly a "company man" and says stuff to highlight what espn wants to push. Miller and Kerr are generally very good, but sometimes you can catch them saying just the opposite of how they played or what they truly believe. They all say on occasion: "What this team needs is a guy who can create his own shot!" And then in the next statement: "They need to move the ball around and not force so many shots!" You can't have it both ways!

I can't think of a finals were I have really rooted for one team as much as I am rooting for the Mavs this year. I just don't think I can handle watching LeBron get a ring this year. And as much as I don't like Dallas they really need to win it this year.

Personally, I think 3 announcers is 1 too many. They all try to talk over each other and prove their opinions like everyone tuned in to hear them speak while a tiny little insignificant thing like the game is being played.

The Dallas Mavericks are close...real close. If that's how they act on the court I'd hate to see what goes on in the locker room.

What's up with Barea? He was on fire against the Lakers and Thunder. If he can get back on track, it would be huge for the good guys.

Miami played with intensity throughout... Dallas not so much.
Miami played championship basketball by owning the points in the paint... Dallas wins when they get hot from the 3 point line and lose when they don't. That's not championship basketball.

Seriously, how many retarded shots did Barea, Terry, and Peja chuck up today? It's like they're afraid of driving and drawing fouls and going to the FT line or something.

The only way to beat the Heat is to get them in foul trouble, eliminate some of their good players, and live at the FT line. There isn't a team alive that can beat them just "shooting" the ball.

Miami just looks like the better team, only way Dallas can hang with them is when Dirk goes off. Dallas doesn't haven enough talent.

How can people complain about Dallas? Pretty much their 1-9 rotation players could all start on basically every team. The Heat have 3 stars and a bunch of washups or vets.
