Max out Kris Middleton

Not for a max contract

When the cap jumps next year, it will no longer be a max contract. If Utah had any chance at all at Middleton with a max right now, they should jump on it, because adding talent like that is just going to cost more and more over the next few years. There's another huge jump the year after next, and that contract will look very good by then.
.
Doesn't matter though, as the bucks will match without question

My hell!! Let me say this so u all understand. I don't think Middleton is as talented as u and not even as talented as hood is now. I have 0 interest in Middleton. He's a role player in my opinion

What's wrong with people? Favors is 23 years old who gives you 16, 8, and great defense every night. Why do people think we'd trade him for crap? What am I missing?

You're missing the fact that Jody Genessey posted an unsubstantiated rumor and now EVERY fan is proposing crap and likely a ton of GM's, thinking the "leak" came from within the Jazz organization, is calling Lindsey to offer spare parts and 2030 2nd-rounders for him.

I like Jody. But what he did has caused serious harm. Whatever "source" he heard this from needs to be tracked down and have his tongue cut out or at least washed out with soap by Gail Miller.

I would like Middleton. With the increased cap, his contract wouldn't be horrible, and if it wasn't a good fit, it would still be easy to move him. And if it does fit, it makes Burks a very good trade piece. Not much downside imo.

The problem you have with maxing out a player is you have to clear the space to do so.

Jazz could get down to about $50.5M by renouncing all their exceptions, not picking up the option on Booker and rescinding the QO for Jingles. The cap is supposed to be somewhere around $68M, I believe. Problem with bidding on a RFA is that if a team matches, you're left with all that space, but maybe you've released players you wanted.

If the Jazz were to go after a wing, I'd much rather see them pursue Carroll. However, I'm like Dalamon, I want to see the damn cake BAKE! The batter tasted mighty fine from having a new and improved Hayward with just a dash of Burks and a pinch of Hood. Quin has just turned on the oven and you want him to start over again?

Compare Middleton's rookie season, or that of Danny Green, Demarre Carroll or any of the other "sexy" wings that you guys have been getting wet dreams about to that of Rodney Hood. We already have an amazing young talent in Hood at $1M per year. Why do we want to consign him to the bench so we can pay player "x" $15M for the same production?

Hood is gonna ball this year...and so will Alec and Gordon. Give them each 32 mins, with Millsap or Jingles getting garbage time. We have our wing rotation. Shake and Bake, baby!

I get the cake bake, I just don't think our current roster is good enough to take a championship.

Of course it's not. But short of adding Curry or LBJ, what move would make us a contender? I don't think there is ANYTHING we can do to get there THIS year. We still need Gobert, Exum, even Favors to grow up. Gordon is near his ceiling, but he can still improve.

I'm just not sold on Middleton or green being better than Burks or hood.

Green looks better right now but he could decline on a different team and Burks and hood could get allot better

In other words, I don't think Middleton or green are the guys that being home the championship to slc

I'm not sure either, and I wouldn't advocate signing Green, but my thought process is that even if they aren't, they could at least be assets used to move us further. Or we could stick with Millsap and co.

I hope to God Utah doesn't sign Middleton to the max. Why would we? Wouldn't be surprised if Hood put up the same (or better) numbers than Middleton this season....

why doesn't everybody understand this??

Add to the TalentBottomline when you can.

Bale the cake is so stupid. Smarter just stick to this if bake to long it burns. This brainwash to jazz fans to believe ok to do nothing I wish I NEVER HEAR It gain!!!!
