What's new

Maybe the most important game of the year tonight!

Dammit. I left early because I wanted Utah to lose and every time we went to our seats, Utah went on a run.

The good news is, Burke is legit. The bad news is, we might not get Wiggins.

Thanks for posting the pics green.

I just locked my screen and turned the pad , they looked fine.

Jazz two wins against Orlando, two wins against Philly, split against Milwaukee and Boston.

Also, 2-1 against Lakers.

Too bad ping pong balls aren't rewards for trying.

I thought Gordon traveled, but Trey is terrific. Someday Jazz need to get into the playoffs with the kid.

Here's how you fix the lottery:

Take the bottom five teams. The team with the best record vs those teams get the #1 pick, second best record gets #2, etc. And so on with the bottom five teams. Then rank everyone else according to record.

What say ye?

It was not the most important game of the year. It may have been the most important game for the next 10 years. The Jazz screwed themselves and the fans by winning it.

Two thoughts from post game show and interviews.....

Richard Jefferson and someone else mentioned that the players are tired, but Corbin kept a short rotation again tonight....only 8 players got time.

Next, all the commentators were talking about the terrible shooting, Phil Johnson even said, "Coach Corbin can't make the shots for them." So it was interesting to me when bolerjack complimented Jeffersons excellent first qtr shooting compared to the teams bad shooting that Jefferson immediately talked about the Spurs shooting coach, saying that the coach had made him a much improved shooter.

I was reminded of Kwai Leonard, who everyone agreed couldn't play nba sf because he couldn't shoot from outside, until the spurs shooting coach got a hold of him. Then t thought of poor Hayward who's shooting percentage has gone down every year since joining the jazz. And favors who is not guarded beyond 12 feet out, or Burks who shots poorly from outside.

Could the jazz make big strides forward by hiring the right shooting coach?

Yes. We have talent. We have 4 lottery picks that are in their young 20's. We need a star, we need a coach, and we need a bench. We are so close.

I thought that was Horny's calling card

Not bad.
I still like taking the bottom 10 teams and giving them all the exact same chance to win the first pick better though

Honestly as far as how the nba awards draft picks goes..... im fine with any idea as long as there is no chance of one of the best teams in the league getting one of the top picks.

Im even fine with the current system. I think tanking doesnt happen that often. GS tanked because they didnt want to lose thier pick all together.

Teams are tanking this year because of the hype of THIS PARTICULAR DRAFT.

Most years teams dont tank.

Saw the same pattern with CJ Miles. His percentages are up this year to 0.435 overall, 0.393 on 3s. His last year with the Jazz he had dropped to 0.381 and 0.307.

I want the #4 slot because it almost guarantees that we end up with a top 4 pick. With a top 5 pick I don't think it is out of the question that we end up with Exum, Parker, or Embiid as I think that if Philly ends #4 they will take Randle at PF which pushes someone to us at 5. I just would hate to be sitting there at 6 watching the Lakers pick up a franchise player while we get a tier two player.
