What's new

Media Day!!!!!

If "All Things Locke" bugs you why go back to it?

The J Note statue is getting unveiled at 10AM MT and it's an open house on the renovated arena.

This is actually David Locke's son. Notice the similarities?

For example... Can't go 3 minutes without talking about himself... Wants you to click on his face... SHRRRRRRILLLLLLLL and annoying.

If you don't buy it, watch a little longer. You'll see it.

Reminds me of Pee Wee -- Pee Wee Locke -- His scream is Locke-like. He actually got a show on Nickelodeon? It says his name is Lucas Cruikshank. How do you know it's Locke's son?

It was just a weird low upside pick... I mean u pick best player available but his ceiling with us is good backup center... a position that is easily filled on the cheap. Was just weird we moved up to get him but who knows maybe he develops and is Rudy insurance in case he leaves or gets hurt. There were other guys I would have rather had for sure.

All I know is that the San Antonio board seemed pretty crushed that we moved up to get him. He's only 18, hard to say he has no upside. . .

Jazz signed Nate Wolters rival Taylor Braun today too. Didnt really think it warranted it's own thread, so I'll stick it in here.

SF out of North Dakota State, 26 years of age. Physically reminiscent of Kyle Singler.

I totally missed this, and I'm usually all over this stuff on other team's boards.

In the future, please be sure to link stuff like this. Thanks.

Because that Fred Figglehorn crap was hilarious! Fred IS a mixed race. Androgynous ginger. If that isn't 'mixed race' then I don't know what is.

PS. What makes Taylor Braun 'Nate Wolters Rival'? Did they play in the same conference back in the day?

I agree that he has upside, but he's not 18, he's turning 20 in a few months.

So Locke wanted Dante to flex for him? Last year he said a few times that Dante had developed a butt. Year before he had an interview where he was definitely staring at the player's crotch. It's time for Locke to just come out of the closet.

You aren't all that off. I can't remember if it was last season or two seasons ago, but during a radio broadcast I was listening to and the Jazz were playing the Blazer, Locke said that Noah Vonleh had "the biggest backside in the NBA" (sic) This basically silenced Ron Booner for a good minute. I wish I was joking.

Since you basically can't play him alongside the Jazz's franchise player, it limits the upside on Bradley's ability to contribute immensely. The best-case scenario is he's really, really good eventually and gets traded.

Right which is why I didn't understand why we were so eager to go get him. I'd rather have semi, white, or moved up far enough to get Kuzma. Was a weird pick.

Kind of a relevant note for the whole "pace" discussion, a Boston reporter asked Hayward how big a difference it would be going from the slowest paced team to Boston. Hayward responded that he didnt feel like they played slow in Utah at all, just that they always executed a lot of reads in their offense.

Agreed. But, they obviously really wanted him and went and got him so let's hope we get something out of him besides 12-16 minutes a game of pretty good play.

Dont we need a back up center?

Actually, if Udoh is as advertised, then No. The point they are making is that, like Udoh, backup centers can be signed pretty easily and cheaply, so it's weird to spend a first and second round pick to get one.

(It won't be weird if he ends up playing really well for 16 minutes a game and we can flip him for more assets than we spent to get him. But, outside of that, it will be kind of weird, IMO, since I don't see he and Rudy ever sharing the floor).

I actually liked Thomas Bryant more. He can even stretch the floor some. To be honest I think Bryant and and Hart are better than Bradley.
