What's new

Merry Christmas!

Sorry colton. I'll keep my negativity and complaints out of your Happy Christmas thread.

Well timed bumperz...

Merry Christmas, happy holidays and Happy New Year to all the Jazzfanz homies wide and far. I hope you are spending it well. Be safe!

Merry Christmas. Enjoy this version of my grandfather's favorite carol:

Merry Christmas everyone!

Isaiah 53: 3-6

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

I'm not a very religious man but I truly enjoy Colton's posts this time of year. Many of us (most of us?) talk the talk but do we truly walk the walk. That's a very broad sentiment but I think my point is clear. Colton, you seem to be a dude who truly cares about and then lives that life. God bless you, my friend.

Most would probably find this hard to believe but I'd probably really hit it off and love to talk to Colton irl. The topic of religion and God has always fascinated me and I could talk for hours on the subject.

Missionaries have already been dispatched to your house

Fish getting a Jazz watch is cool....but he's a Stockton/Malone era Jazz fan. Here's what I want to know.....did any of you witness any.... let's say..... 7-18 year olds asking for Jazz gifts this year? A lot of us were watching Cavs/Warriors yesterday and one of my 13 year old cousins, that lives in SLC, walks in and excitedly mentions he got Jazz/Cavs tickets for Christmas. So I'm thinking...... cool....he gets to watch his Jazz play and catch one of the best players in this last decade in person.....but then a couple minutes of the game goes by and I realize he's super into watching Lebron....so I asked him if he was actually Jazz fan. Nope. Cavs fan. So after I gave him and his parents a beat down for not raising him properly(not really)....and finished watching the game..... I made it a point to ask every other cousin that was there in that age range throughout the day if they were Jazz fans, didn't get one yes. I'm guessing there was about 20 or so kids in that age range at that particular gathering. It was kind of disturbing to me.

I hardly feel sorry for you. Kids I know don't make the connection between a certain Malone and the Utah Stars. Moses Malone really dates you.

Lol, but just so you know, I got a warning for circumventing the filter on that same word.
Modstapo wouldn't give out infractions at Christmas time would they?

Well my issue isn't really familiarity with similar Jazz eras.....It's just these are low hanging fruit potential fans. Kids that already like basketball, kids that play Jr. Jazz, kids that have been to plenty of Jazz games in their lives, kids that pretty much all live within 10-20 miles of the arena... and they aren't fans. It's kind of weird. I get that the Jazz haven't given them much to cheer about in their lifetimes. Still, hometown team above all when it comes to sports in my book.

Bottom line, Jazz need to get back in the playoffs.
