What's new

Michael Beasley

Have Jerry kick his butt into shape and get his life together and maybe there's something. If the Heat are trying to get rid of him for Dooling, then the Jazz could be able to get him for what? Maybe KoKo? Gamble it, KOC.

The Nets have rejected a trade offer from the Heat that would have sent forward Michael Beasley to New Jersey for guard Keyon Dooling, according to ESPN's Ryen Russillo.

Miami doesn't consider Beasley a part of their future anymore and is even looking at lopsided trades in an effort to clear additional cap space.

I would give him a shot. He's still on his rookie contract and would come pretty cheap.

Yeah, but there's got to be something about him that Miami isn't letting others know. If they are willing to part with him for Dooling, and the Nets don't bite, it makes you wonder.

I think the Nets don't have a place for him and I think that Eric Spoelstra can't coach anything but a team of established NBA stars.

If Boozer is adamant about going to Miami would you guys do the Haslem/Beasley trade. I would for sure do it. Atleast we get something back.

I'm stunned that New Jersey didn't take that offer.

It looks to me like Dooling's contract might be an "instant expiring" in that his money is unguaranteed for next season.

Still that's crazy low value for a guy who was the #2 pick just two years ago.

We wouldn't have to do that. We could ask for Beasley + a TPE. Miami would have to surrender 6 or 7 million dollars of Cap Space, but they'd effectively be getting Boozer for that same Cap Cost which gives them more flexibility to sign other guys. The alternative would be to sign Boozer outright and lose 12 million in Cap Space. My guess is Beasley isn't this cheap, and that Miami isn't going to look Boozer's way until they're sure they're not getting Bosh or Stoudemire.

Holy ****. Wow. Yeah. Do the **** out of that trade.

Even though I was never, ever, high on Beasley, he is a very talented kid. And talent is talent. Sloan will make or break him and I think it's worth a shot.

But don't take back Haslem because that wouldn't be necessary.

Sounds like Miami is pretty confident they'll sign another PF. Bosh is probably option #1 with Boozer their fallback plan.

I'd be down for that. But, I thought you couldnt combine players and TPE's. Am I wrong?

Let's also not forget that Miami is probably the biggest party-town in the NBA. Getting the **** out of that or anything like it might be the only thing to save this kid.

If the Jazz signed and traded Boozer to Miami for Blazeley, then the difference in their salaries would constitute a TPE. Then again, I make a lot of **** up and I might be wrong.

Ahhh. I forgot The Heat were under the cap. I was thinking he was saying we would use our TPE from the Maynor trade wich makes no sense at all. So we would get a TPE in this. Got it.

They wouldn't be using a TPE to acquire Boozer. They'd be creating one because they already have Cap Space. Any amount of Cap Space can be packaged in the form of a TPE, but only up to whatever a team has. Like the Camby deal: The Clippers had the Cap Space to acquire his entire contract. They sent back a worthless second and created a TPE which went to Denver. There may be extra provisions with S&T's, but when Seattle dealt Lewis to Orlando, they took back a 9 or 10 million dollar TPE.

No surprise here. I predicted he would be a bust just by looking at him. The same goes for Cousins. Body language goes a long way in my opinion. Take a flier.
