OGDEN -- The Attorney General’s Office said they have arrested the man who owned and operated at least 11 Wasatch Front massage parlors that were fronts for sex trafficking, including Ogden, South Ogden and Clearfield.

Changfeng Lin, 35, was booked Tuesday evening in the Weber County Jail on one count of pattern of unlawful activity and one count of exploiting a prostitute. The AG’s Office is reviewing the case before filing formal charges in 2nd District Court.

Missy Larsen, spokeswoman for the AG’s Office, said the Attorney General’s SECURE Strike Force executed search warrants at seven of the 11 locations on Tuesday in Weber, Davis and Salt Lake counties.

Larsen said officers did not have time to serve search warrants at the remaining four massage parlors.

Larsen said Lin’s current status in the United States is legal, “although a few months ago, he was listed as ’undocumented.’”

Lin is listed as owner of four of the massage parlors, while Michael Lin was listed as owner of one parlor and two women, who have not been named, were listed as owners of the others, according to the probable cause statement of arrest released by the AG’s Office. The women told officers that Lin was their boss and he had them switch the business licenses to their name.

They told officers they did so out of “fear,” according to the document..

Investigators determined that Michael Lin and Changfen Lin are the same person, according to the document.

Lin was arrested in the Salt Lake area Tuesday morning, according to the booking sheet provided by the AG’s Office. The women at the massage parlors were questioned but have not been arrested, Larsen said. Customers who were at the parlors were cited.

Look at the name of the poster. It is his/her cousin/brother, etc.

From the thread title it sounds like he got arrested in the jail. That is convenient for the cops and he should get time off for being considerate.

With my limited Chinese expertise, I would hesitate to call lesliecheung and anyone Changfen "cousins", from among over 1.5 billion ethnic Chinese worldwide. . . . and it is common for ethnic minorities to pay more attention to the news when someone of their ethnicity gets in the news, good or bad.

Pretty clear a guy of any ethnicity who operates a string of massage parlors and licenses them under different "employees" is trying to slip something past straightup business practices. Massage parlors don't have a clean reputation in Asia generally, either. . . . . .

With this kind of business, authorities should consider the possibilities of human trafficking as well. . . . .one way to "staff" these business is with a container full of illegal "immigrants" smuggled with the assistance of a nice payoff to a dockyard operator. . . .

Damn, those fronts are everywhere. Honestly, I am kind of surprised they'd in business in such a theocratic state. I mean, here in the cesspool of LA is one thing but in Utahr? Are those cities that they list big or small?
