Mike Conley knee strain

Sounds about right.
To be honest, if it were me with that injury, I would probably be out playing basketball again in two or three days.

It was an isolated popliteal over extension(meaning no other muscle structures were involved), so he probably felt very minimal pain and was walking around with no problem 20 minutes later. Probably more of a scare than anything for him. I imagine if I felt that I would stay on the ground too for good measure.

If he is out the full month, it is because of precautions, rest, or simply testing out other lineups. The hamstrings don’t even connect to the popliteal in any manor so there shouldn’t be any “crossover injury concerns” there.

Any updates?

When looking at the calendar I had kind of hoped he would be coming back about now to get some practices in during our 3 days off.

I'm definitely not looking forward to him coming back. Right now we have positioned ourselves perfectly over the last few weeks for the tank and the next 7 games is a really rough stretch that could set us up perfectly to lock in that 6-8 draft range. With Conley back all of a sudden we go back to having the best bench in the nba and we likely stabilize around the .500 mark.

Sounds like maybe he needs to wait a little longer until he's closer to pain free. When he comes back he should be on a super limited minutes restriction until closer to the trade deadline.
Can we wait until he is pain free... and for hell's sake sit him on the back end of back to backs please. We have depth... we need dev time... don't push Mike's minutes. Its best to limit his minutes under any scenario (tanking or gunning for the playoffs).

Can't wait for Conley to get back. I still remember how this team looked with an actual point guard running the show.

Sexton has been OK lately, but he's still not really facilitating. He's just one of the many scorers on this team.

Tell me you have an agenda and don’t watch the games without telling me.

I like the way Mike has led us this year but he absolutely should be sitting one night of b2b's. If not, Sexton is going to have a lot of opportunity as the starting pg (maybe not such a bad thing) but I say we manage Conley a little closer and maximize his minutes.

Time to set up the tank. It means Mike has to play limited min and no B2B.
They really don't have any intention of this though imo. If Sexton is able to establish chems with the others in the current line up going forward the team will start winning again just like they were. Unless you have no confidence in Sexton despite what he already has shown this season. He is looking like a far more reasonable pg option than he ever did in Cleveland

We are 2-6 without Mike. I'm convince that we are a 30 win team without our commandor. So if we wanna tank, it's time to play smart. We have nothing to win ending with 42 victory and go into play in, Lakers will make a run, OKC is not bad, we can easily finish bottom 3 and with a bit of luck a the lottery.....
