Sap is what Josh Smith was supposed to be.
Minus the occasional elite level defense.

Great post D? I'd call it below average. He's a decent help defender and he's become good about getting in passing lanes and knocking the ball out of opponents hands. But a great post defender should not get totally dominated in the post as often as he does.
The rest of the post I agree with.

The last time they played against LAC Griffin was killing him for a good stretch. They only slowed him down by putting Favors on him.
Without even looking it up.
Jason thompson
Blake Griffin
Lemarcus Aldridge
Carlos Boozer
Channing Frye (though not in the post)
Struggled with Faried as well. Though I would not call that being dominated only because Denver just did not go through him.
Convieniently for your argument there are not that many post up PF's anymore. Most of the best post up players in the league actually play C and are guarded by Jefferson. So I gave my list. What list do you have for players that he has dominated defensively in the post that are post players? I can't think of anybody but one time against Griffin. Love is not really a post player either.
Why is it that the narrative with Millsap is because someone just has a good game, it's because it's Millsap's fault because he's too small. It's Millsap's fault the Jazz want their PFs to let stretch 4s go ape-****? What does that have to do with his size, or him at all? Why are we not pissing ourselves about Kanter or Favors inability to guard the post because stretch 4s have a good game? The last time they played against LAC Griffin was killing him for a good stretch. When did I ever mention his size? My point is that Millsap is not a great post defender. Average at best and probably below average. I don't care about his size. He has stuggled defending post players on numerous occasions this season. Why is it that the narrative with Millsap is because someone just has a good game, it's because it's Millsap's fault because he's too small. Millsap's too small to guard Kenneth Faried in the post? What?
Carlos Boozer was hitting everything he shot. If you think that's Millsap's fault, then I have a bridge to sell you. Also, they were mostly jumpshots. Too bad Millsap's too small so he just GETS ABUSED. Incessantly.
He hasn't played well against Thompson. Not a post issue.
He hasn't played particularly well against Aldridge.
Blake Griffin is Blake ****ing Griffin. Millsap also caused him to have one of his worst games of the year. So we can call that a wash. Or I can use that as evidence for me. Not really a post issue, either.
Why is it convenient for me to bring up Kevin Love and not convenient of you to change the argument?
Kevin Love
Pau Gasol (OMG he's SO BIG)
Blake Griffin
A lot more that don't particularly don't strengthen my argument. He wins most matchups, and on both sides of court. He also has actually tougher players to guard than Jefferson who guards a position that is pretty bereft of offensive talent (who is the toughest player he has to guard? Dwight Howard? Tim Duncan for 20 minutes? Andrew Bynum? Pau Gasol at times? Kevin Garnett? OOPS).
Millsap's given one of the toughest matchups on the court with regularity, and the narrative continues that Millsap shows he's outmatched. He's not. He doesn't have a great physical profile for what he's asked to do, but he's figured out a way to do it better and better. Maybe he's easier to shoot OVER, but he doesn't give position and he is an absolute pest to anyone that holds the ball.
Jazz fans are such prima donnas when it comes to PF play. Millsap is a good defender. He shouldn't be as good as he is, and he shouldn't be dogged on because of unfair perceptions and expectations. It's so insane that with time and with constant improvement, Jazz fans seem to grow in their discontent with him. It's absurd. I enjoyed watching the reveille of our fan base at Millsap being benched for Favors, only to see Millsap forcing his way into the starting lineup again out of nothing but pure ***-kicking and everyone shut up for a minute.
With Millsaps physical liabilities I say he is best coming off the bench. Too small to guard elite pf's to slow to guards elite sf's.
to slow to guards elite sf's.
Actually, player X is sometimes good, and sometimes player X isn't so good. I might therefore demonstrate my knowledge thusly: player X is inconsistent.
you might then say that player X is only inconsistent relative to my standards of consistency. You might then call me a **** for demonstrating my knowledge thusly. However, if you call me a **** with enough force, I will report your post to the feds and continue demonstrating my knowledge endlessly.

You still mad?
what are you talking about?
