Millsap for Bledsoe?

I don't think they will ever get a better offer than Millsap.
An expiring player who plays the same position as their second best player. If they don't think Millsap puts them over the top or they don't think they can/will re-sign him, what's the point?

Really surprised this deal didn't happen or one with Jefferson to Clippers. They badly need somebody in the final minutes of a close game to hit FT's. Don't think they can win it all with Jordan in the final minutes of a close game. Their backups are very weak.

Doesn't mean he doesn't have value though. Plus if we throw them a '13 pick as well they can get a nice young player too.

My point is Bledsoe is good, but most teams have a PG of the future nowadays (with more coming in the coming drafts). Only a handful of teams will be willing to give up something of value for a back up PG.

Agreed.

You're on fire today Weezur!!

I think Millsap or Jefferson give the Clippers a chance that they currently don't have. Their big rotation could sink them no matter how good their best players play, IMO.

I'm still surprised that a three way trade bringing them a solid backup PG for one of our picks never got brought up more seriously. I would think that would help mitigate the loss of Bledsoe.

Or simply, just give them Tinsley or Earl.

We're fine with Mo, Bledsoe, Burks.

My official prediction;

Pre-trade deadline
Bledsoe = Really, really good

Post-trade deadline
Bledsoe in a Jazz uni = Savior, God, future all-star
Bledsoe in a Clippers uni = meh, overrated

They already have Billups and Crawford.

We'll just never really know now, would we? LOL...

Crawford isn't a PG and Billups has injury issues seemingly always. Giving them Augustin or Collison or someone in that ballpark to run the 2nd team would seem to help their chances of winning this year over just Bledsoe IMO. Especially since you know in the playoffs CP will be playing 40+ per game.

Totally agree. But you can remove the first post-trade deadline since he's not coming through that door.

I think if you are the Clippers the thought has to be why trade such a promising player for another player who plays the same position as a guy named Griffin and is also an unrestricted free agent.

Because when you have a good team that is finally healthy but is a piece or two away it makes sense to try to win over accumulating assets. You can't take that for granted.

If I were the Clippers I go all in. This year the window is wide open for them. I'll do it. No bias.

I wonder if the fact that the Jazz might be facing the Clippers in the playoffs turned off the Clippers from making the trade. I imagine they might fear Bledsoe defensively guarding Paul, since right now they have a huge advantage over us at PG.

I'm going to tell the truth. I'm hoping this actually happened but we just haven't gotten the news yet.

I think I'm in the denial stage of grief.

Me too. Maybe we can acquire him this summer in a double sign and trade or something but honestly it's depressing. Even if we draft Burke or McCollum or whoever you know they'll rot on the bench for at least a year.

According to Locke he hasn't gotten official word yet.

The Clippers have said they are done though.
